 It’s late-night host Jimmy Fallon’s birthday today, and to celebrate he wanted people to smile— a gift that he requested from his followers on social media. It’s fitting for the hilarious comedian to want to spread the love of laughter for his special day.

Jimmy turns 45 today and last night he took to Twitter to request a very unique birthday gift: he wanted to wake up to photos or videos of people making others smile. He ended the tweet with the hashtag #SMILE, and people fulfilled his wishes in droves, causing #SMILE to trend on Twitter.

The response overwhelmed the host and he sent out a follow-up tweet saying “So happy. Thanks. What a nice birthday present?!?!” And this is all before his official September 19th birthday. One commenter said “you deserve it jimmy! thank you for making us all smile every day.” It’s true, Jimmy has entertained audiences with his TV show and he should get some smiles back.

His hilarious antics on his late-night show have gotten celebrities of all sorts to loosen up and join the fun.
