JFK's Grandson Jack Schlossberg Is His Spitting Image

In a video from August’s Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the late President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, 27-year-old Jack Schlossberg, appeared alongside his mother — and the resemblance to his grandfather is striking. We’ll take a closer look at Schlossberg’s life while also comparing him to his doppelganger, the 35th president of the United States.

As part of the DNC’s largely virtual convention, Schlossberg and his mother Caroline Kennedy made an appearance in a short 2-minute clip, which also looked back on JFK’s legacy as president. And while it certainly was not the focus of the video, Schlossberg’s brief showing at the convention led people to discuss the unmistakable similarities between the former president and his 27-year-old grandson.

In general, Schlossberg, JFK’s only grandson, has avoided the press in the past, but with his recent appearances on the Today show and at the convention, he won't be able to avoid the comparison!

Perhaps most obviously, Schlossberg shares his grandfather’s killer good looks. It’s not a stretch to say that most of us remember JFK as a bit of a hunk. After all, one of Kennedy’s most famous photos is of him sporting stylish Ray-Bans with the wind in his hair on his private yacht the Manitou. And countless publications have called the 35th president a “style icon,” with guides on “How to dress like JFK.” In a few years, magazines might be writing the same thing about Schlossberg because the 27-year-old not only knows how to dress — just look at him in a suit! — but he also has that east-coast Kennedy charm.

With that said, Schlossberg also followed in Kennedy’s footsteps with his childhood on the East Coast and his choice to go to Harvard. According to Esquire, Schlossberg grew up in New York, attending a well-known private school on Manhattan’s Upper West Side much like his grandfather who went to high school at a prep school in Massachusetts. After graduation, Schlossberg went to Yale, only to again follow in his grandfather’s footsteps again by later attending Harvard, Kennedy’s alma mater. And according to his most recent interview, Schlossberg is still a student at Harvard.

But despite their similarities, Schlossberg has also paved his own path that diverges from the Kennedy legacy. For one thing, Schlossberg has a fairly active Instagram presence, where he posts quirky videos and fun wordplay memes. He’s also contributed to a few major publications like the New York Times and The Washington Post. And so far, Schlossberg has — unlike a lot of Kennedys — also stayed out of electoral politics, though it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to resist the urge as he gets older. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see whether the young man will carve out his own legacy, or whether he’ll continue to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps.
