Ever since the early 2000s, Jessica Alba has been an incredibly well-loved actress in Hollywood. Not only is she absolutely gorgeous but she's known for being a total sweetheart too — it's no wonder the world fell in love with her after she catapulted to fame on the series "Dark Angel."
Following her time on the show, she dominated Hollywood with starring roles in movies "Honey," "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City," among many others. But beyond acting, Alba has also proven herself to be a savvy entrepreneur, after she started her brand The Honest Company in 2011. It specializes in baby, personal and household products, and by 2015 the company received a massive valuation of $1.7 billion.
But beyond her successful professional endeavors, Alba also has a rich family life. Married to her husband Cash Warren, the couple has three children together — Honor Marie, 13, Haven Garner, 10, and Hayes, 4. Cash has also worked in the movie industry — in fact, the pair met while Alba filmed "Fantastic Four" when Cash worked for the director. Cash is also no stranger to being an entrepreneur as he started his own brand with friends in 2012. Called Pair of Thieves, it sells quality basic items such as socks and underwear, while also giving back to the needy.
It seems that the couple has a lot in common, so it's no surprise to learn that they've been happily married for over 12 years. Unlike Hollywood romances that don't make it, theirs appears to get stronger by the year. Let's take a look at their marriage — which happened on a whim — and the happy life they've built together.
Fans of Alba might be familiar with Cash, but for many, he's not really famous. That's because despite having worked in the film industry, he's stuck to behind-the-scenes jobs. He got his start as a director's assistant on the movies "Taxi" and "Fantastic Four," where he met Alba, but soon after transitioned to producing and executive producing roles.
But in 2012, Cash discovered his true calling when he and two friends started a clothing basics brand with a conscience. Pair of Thieves got its start as a sock brand with an aim of donating to charities and helping those less fortunate.
It's no wonder the duo are a match made in heaven since they're both focused on social issues and the greater good. Nevertheless, the moment they decided to get married actually happened on a whim. In 2008, when Alba was pregnant with their first daughter, the pair woke up one morning and decided they wanted to tie the knot that day. In a moving Instagram post, Cash shared with the world how the couple said "I do." He wrote:
"We were laying in bed having one of those amazing lazy mornings where we’d do nothing. You were 9 months pregnant with Honor and we were so excited to meet her in the coming weeks. Not sure who thought of it first but the decision we made that day would forever change the course of our lives."
They "hopped up, got dressed and drove straight to the courthouse,” he wrote. Although he admitted to Alba "it wasn't the dream wedding you deserved," as no family or even friends were present, just them and the courthouse employee. He called the moment "laughably awkward," but clearly it was the right thing for the lovebirds to do!

Since then, the couple has worked together to raise their three children with good morals. Cash is inspired by his "hero" father, Michael Warren, a former UCLA basketball player and television actor. In 2020, Cash told Reveal magazine:
"One thing that Jessica and I are 100% aligned on is that we’re not raising a**holes. If they get out of line, we’re not going to stand for it. We’ve tried to maintain the values our parents taught us."
This includes "setting boundaries and routines" and teaching their kids about giving back. They even get their kids involved when their brands go and "distribute socks and hygiene products" to homeless shelters.
Alba revealed in a 2019 interview that their marriage has lasted because they also focus on their own partnership, as well as parenting their kids. She told Refinery29 that they schedule regular date nights and while that might not sound romantic, it's important to make time with your partner. She said:
“If you don’t make time to connect on that date night level, then you can find yourself just going through the motions (…) The kids’ schedules are a priority, your work is a priority, everything seems to take precedence over the thing that should be the most important: your partnership, and the life you’re building together.”
She said that they're "much happier" when they make sure to take this time for themselves. And clearly, their relationship is working incredibly well. Unlike other Hollywood couples, they don't feel the need for big displays of affection and prefer to maintain a low-key relationship, but they occasionally praise each other on social media. In a post for their 11th wedding anniversary, Alba called Cash "my everything" and said:
