Jennifer Aniston Says She And Ex-Husband Brad Pitt Still Have A Friendship

The late 1990s and early 2000s were a fantastic time for Jennifer Aniston. She was one of the stars of the hit sitcom “Friends,” and rose to fame for her acclaimed role as Rachel on the show. Between winning awards and constantly working, Aniston made sure to keep some time available in her personal life, and found love with fellow actor Brad Pitt. With his career having started in the late 1980s, Pitt rose to fame in 1991 with his role in “Thelma & Louise,” before continuing on a great trail of success.

Aniston and Pitt first met and began dating in 1998, and their relationship instantly gained widespread media attention. After two years together, they tied the knot on July 29, 2000, in Malibu, California. The two were head-over-heels in love with each other, and Pitt even guest-starred on an episode of “Friends” in 2001, although he played Rachel’s enemy rather than her love interest. Although the couple appeared more than happy together in the eyes of the media, they soon announced that they were going to end their marriage. After five years of marriage, the couple announced their separation, and their divorce was finalized in October 2005.

Despite being exes, Aniston and Pitt have managed to remain good friends, even as they have ventured off into other relationships and career avenues. In an interview with Howard Stern in June 2021, Aniston opened up more about her friendship with her ex-husband, and how the two have even been able to work together since ending their marriage.

During a recent interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, “The Howard Stern Show,” Aniston revealed that she and Pitt are still friends. PEOPLE reported that the star, 52, and Pitt, 57, were reunited in September 2020 for a live table reading of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” The two even played love interests during the table reading.

While it might seem weird for exes to have to work together, the two former lovers were not just cordial with one another, they were extremely friendly and even happy to see each other. According to PEOPLE, Aniston told Stern that there was no awkwardness between them. “It was absolutely fun,” she said. “Brad and I are buddies, we’re friends.” Luckily, working together turned out to be a great moment for the pair. “And we speak, and there’s no oddness at all, except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting there to be, or assumed there to be,” Aniston said.

This wasn’t the first time the former couple reunited. According to PEOPLE, they rekindled their friendship back in 2019 when Pitt attended Aniston’s birthday party. They also shared a nice moment together at the Screen Actors Guild Awards the following year. 

Aniston is also still friendly with her second ex-husband Justin Theroux. The two were married from 2015 until 2017 and have continued to remain on friendly terms with each other. Although Aniston may not walk down the aisle again, as she revealed to People in June 2021, she is pretty content with her life. “I’m in a really peaceful place,” she said. “I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs. I’m just a very fortunate and blessed human being.”
