Jennifer Aniston is an American actress that rose to international fame for her role as Rachel Green in the hit series "Friends." Born to two actors, John and Nancy, she came to acting early in life. While attending a Waldorf school, Aniston fell in love with acting at age 11.
She later enrolled at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan. After high school, Aniston worked part-time jobs like waitressing and telemarketing to support herself while she performed in off-Broadway productions. She later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she soon hit fame.
Before too long, Aniston landed her most famous role on the hit television series "Friends," which aired from 1994 to 2004. She won a Primetime Emmy Award for her iconic role, as well as a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award. Her character was extremely popular and is considered one of the most memorable female roles in television history.
Aniston has also starred in a number of films and is one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses. Films that star Aniston in a leading role have grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide, while 12 of those films earned over $100 million. Her most popular film roles were in "Bruce Almighty," "The Break-Up," "Horrible Bosses" and "We're the Millers." Recently, she starred in the Apple TV series “The Morning Show.”
With Aniston's major A-list reputation, it is no surprise her name has been in and out of tabloids and press since she stepped on the scene many years ago. In a December 2022 interview with Allure, the actress bared all — both literally and figuratively. As she opened up about failing to get pregnant, aging and having compassion for herself, Aniston modeled a sexy look that showed off her killer body.
Over the past several decades, Aniston has continued to grace the big and small screens in starring roles. She rose to prominence during the late 1990s and early 2000s show “Friends.” Afterward, the actress continued to find more recognition with a plethora of films.
Some of her most popular movies include “We’re the Millers,” “Murder Mystery,” “Horrible Bosses” and “He’s Just Not That Into You.” However, in more recent years, Aniston juggled landing leading roles on the big screen alongside working on the TV series “The Morning Show” alongside Reese Witherspoon.
Aniston and Witherspoon had worked together in the past, as they played sisters on “Friends.” And this is not the only actor that Aniston had a special relationship with on friends, as her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, was also on the show. The pair first met and began dating in 1998. Their relationship instantly gained widespread media attention.
After two years of dating, they tied the knot on July 29, 2000, in Malibu, California. They were head-over-heels in love, so it wasn’t surprising when Pitt guest-starred on an episode of “Friends” in 2001, although he played an enemy to Aniston’s character Rachel Green rather than her love interest.
Although the couple appeared more than happy together in the eyes of the media, they soon announced that they were going to end their marriage. After five years of married life, the couple announced their separation, and their divorce was finalized in October 2005. There were rumors circulating that there were more issues behind the scenes than the general public may have known about.

During an interview in 2021 with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show, "The Howard Stern Show," Aniston revealed that she and Pitt are still friends. PEOPLE reported that the star, 53, and Pitt, 58, were reunited in September 2020 for a live table reading of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." The two even played love interests during the table reading.
After Aniston and Pitt split and went their separate ways, Aniston eventually moved on. In 2007 on the set of "Tropic Thunder," Aniston first met actor Justin Theroux although they wouldn't start dating until 2011. The couple got engaged in 2012 but didn't tie the knot until August of 2015. The two were married from 2015 until 2017 when they divorced amicably.
Just like Aniston and Pitt continued to be friends, she and Theroux have also continued to remain on friendly terms with each other. It's not usual that a divorced couple can stay friends after their divorce, so this says a lot about the character of Aniston and her ex-husbands.
Both Pitt and Aniston had been very vocal that the end of their relationship was not as the media portrayed it, but the stories of drama took on a life of their own over the years. Marie Claire reported that the couple was back on speaking terms since Pitt's divorce from Angelina Jolie and had since rekindled their friendship. It seems like the friendship is still going well enough and that neither person has any bad feelings left over from their painfully public divorce.

Aniston addressed similar rumors again in 2018 in an interview with InStyle, as per TODAY. The star said:
“The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally.”
The actress also added: “There is a pressure on women to be mothers, and if they are not, then they’re deemed damaged goods. Maybe my purpose on this planet isn’t to procreate. Maybe I have other things I’m supposed to do.”
It appears that Aniston has encountered quite a few bumps in the road on her path toward finding love. But although Aniston may not walk down the aisle again, as she revealed to PEOPLE in June 2021, she is pretty content with her life. "I'm in a really peaceful place," she said. "I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs. I'm just a very fortunate and blessed human being."

"I don't feel a void. I really don't. My marriages, they've been very successful, in (my) personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn't exist within that arrangement anymore.”
"Sure, there were bumps, and not every moment felt fantastic, obviously, but at the end of it, this is our one life and I would not stay in a situation out of fear. Fear of being alone. Fear of not being able to survive. To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you're doing your one life a disservice. When the work has been put in and it doesn't seem that there's an option of it working, that's okay. That's not a failure," Aniston added.
Aniston's outlook on marriage is inspiring. She told the Huffington Post in 2016:
"We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies… We don't need to be married or mothers to be complete. We get to determine our own' happily ever after' for ourselves."
Aside from overcoming broken romantic relationships, Aniston also worked hard to repair her relationship with her mother. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston and her mother, Nancy Dow, didn’t speak for many years. However, ABC News reported that Aniston’s divorce from Pitt was actually one of the turning points in rekindling their relationship.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston shared her experience with people assuming she chose to focus on her career over having children. She said:
"I used to take it all very personally. And the whole 'Oh, she chose career over kids' assumption. It's like, 'You have no clue what's going with me personally, medically, why I can't … Can I have kids?' They don't know anything, and it was really hurtful and just nasty."
This discussion is reminiscent of a statement Aniston made back in 2016 while speaking with the Huffington Post. She shared:
"The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time ... but who's counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they're not married with children."
The star spoke about being a role model for young women who look up to celebrities, and one should not set a bad example by implying that getting married and having children is necessary for happiness in life.
Aniston continued: "We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone. Let's make that decision for ourselves and for the young women in this world who look to us as examples. We don't need to be married or mothers to be complete. We get to determine our own 'happily ever after' for ourselves."
Jennifer Aniston (2008), (Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic/Getty Images)Making her own happiness, Aniston has kept her health at the forefront of her life. In August 2022, the actress's hair stylist, Chris McMillan, shared beautiful pictures of Aniston in a white bikini that showed how amazing the actress looks for her age. Posting the black and white pictures to his Instagram, McMillan’s photos received well over 19,000 impressions — and it’s not hard to see why.
In the two photos, Aniston was beautiful, playful and silly as she showed off her amazing figure. The star actress flashed a gorgeous smile as she played around in her hair stylist's seat. The internet was quick to notice how amazing Aniston looked.
One Instagram user commented: "She’s absolutely perfect??? yeahh stunning girl." Many other fans and followers couldn’t agree more. “Favorite of all time every time!” another fan commented on the beautiful photos.
This wasn’t the first time fans freaked out about how absolutely gorgeous Aniston is. Back in December 2021, the actress uploaded a different photo of herself in a white bikini, as well as several others, in an Instagram post with pictures taken from her Hollywood Reporter photoshoot. In the caption, Aniston wrote:
“Thank you #SherryLansing, the @HollywoodReporter and all of you incredible women in film and television ❤️🙌🏼for inspiring me over the last god knows how many years. 🥂🤩This is my JOB!?? 🤯🙏🏼 Blessed.”
More fans left encouraging comments filled with fire emojis and heart emojis to express just how stunning they believed Aniston looked. One person wrote, “Class act as always.” Another said, “My fav woman.”
Jennifer Aniston (2019), (Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic/Getty Images)As stunning as Aniston is, the star works hard for her beautiful appearance. In an interview with PEOPLE, Aniston shared that she doesn't limit her carbohydrate intake as much as she used to. "I started to give myself a break, allowing yourself to have pasta, a sandwich. Everyone's very afraid of the bread basket, and I'm no longer afraid. As long as it's all done in moderation," she explained.
Aniston continued: "There's something my body appreciates about (having carbs), like, 'Oh, thank you! Why are you depriving me of things I love?'"
The actress also explained that she doesn't typically like eating breakfast. "I kind of naturally do intermittent fasting, just because I'm not a breakfast person," she says. "I just like a cup of coffee and my collagen."
Aniston added that she was inspired to start using the supplement as she was getting older. "I was hitting a stage in my life where I wanted to up the health game," she explained.
Back in October 2020, Aniston had thrown her back out and revealed that her “whole workout had to change.” As a way to help recover from her injury, the actress started attending pilates and now participates in the exercise regime three to four times a week. “It really works your body out in a very gentle way,” she explained.
The former “Friends” star is definitely an inspiration to anyone embarking on a health journey. It’s clear that no matter what age Aniston is, she will always be absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. No wonder the actress has so many adoring fans!
Jennifer Aniston (2020), (Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)Aniston has continued to open up about her life further, and in a December 2022 cover feature with Allure the actress spoke publicly about her struggles with IVF. “I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” she said. The actress explained that “nobody” knew and added:
“All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. It was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had to said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
However, Aniston said she has “zero regrets” and actually feels “a little relief” because she doesn’t have to go through it anymore. It was tough for her to hear so many lies. She explained:
“I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don't have anything to hide at this point.”
Now, Aniston is embracing the next chapter of her life, one she calls “Phoenix Rising.” As well as baring all in the Allure interview the actress also showed off her killer physique in a sexy designer outfit for the cover. Aniston donned a tiny black vintage Chanel bikini top, a Gucci thong and a Saint Laurent skirt. Her famous tresses were straightened and lengthened with extensions, adding to the sharp and sexy look.
Jennifer Aniston (2022), (James Devaney/GC Images)In the same interview, Aniston also got candid about her looks and having compassion for herself. She told Allure:
“I feel the best in who I am today, better than I ever did in my 20s or 30s even, or my mid-40s." She continued: "We needed to stop saying bad sh*t to ourselves. You’re going to be 65 one day and think, ‘I looked f***ing great at 53.’”
Despite going through tough moments in the last few decades, Aniston is glad to be on the other side, a stronger and happier version of herself. She explained:
“I would say my late 30s, 40s, I’d gone through really hard sh*t, and if it wasn’t for going through that, I would’ve never become who I was meant to be. ... That’s why I have such gratitude for all those sh*tty things. Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were. And now, I don’t f***ing care.”
The actress also opened up about her broken relationship with her parents — including her dad John Aniston, and mom, Dow, from whom she had been estranged for a long time — and how she completely healed after she learned to forgive them. “I forgave my mom,” she said. “I forgave my father. I’ve forgiven my family.” For Aniston, letting go of her resentment and anger meant she would break free from living a toxic life.
“It’s important,” she said. “It’s toxic to have that resentment, that anger. I learned that by watching my mom never let go of it.”
Jennifer Aniston's willingness to talk openly about tough topics is no doubt helping others out there. Do you find the actress inspiring? Which is your favorite role of hers? If this resonated with you, be sure to send this on to your friends, family and other Jennifer Aniston fans!
