Jason Ritter Hilariously Tells Fans Hitting On His Wife Melanie Lynskey: ‘I Can Fight’

The Vanity Fair Oscars party is always a fashion spectacle, with celebrities and models strutting the red carpet with the best of what the fashion industry has to offer. Even more interesting are the couples’ appearances, with fans seeing some of the most famous and equally stunning couples in Hollywood on one of the most famous red carpets in fashion after celebrating the biggest night in film. 

But this year, it wasn’t just the A-list gowns and red carpet dates that set the internet ablaze – it was Melanie Lynskey. The “Yellowjackets” star turned heads in a sleek, shimmering red Christian Siriano off-shoulder gown with a daring neckline and old-Hollywood curls. Her bold red lip and nails matched her breathtaking gown and she accessorised the look with a diamond necklace and matching earrings by Martin Katz. She also added bangles, rings and a red clutch to match her look. 

The Kiwi actress, 47, walked the red carpet with her husband, actor Jason Ritter, 45. The actor was wearing a classic black tux and bowtie. The two have been married since 2020 and share a daughter. However, all eyes were on Lynskey and the internet was abuzz with how incredibly stunning she looked. Fans quickly took to social media to express their approval of her style choice and ask her husband one very interesting question. While fashion critics and fans praised her look, things quickly escalated into full-on thirst territory online.

Fans instantly took to social media to express their awe and adoration for Lynskey, with some teasing Ritter and challenging him to fight for the actress. 

“Vavavoom 🔥🔥🔥 Now that’s one beautiful woman 😍,” one social media user gushed.

Another wrote down what the entire internet was thinking and praised Lynskey’s color choice, writing:

“Red is her color 🔥🔥🔥”

“THE WAY MY JAW JUST FUCKING DROPPED,” another commented. 

They followed up their comment with the funniest question to Lynskey’s husband, Ritter, asking, “can jason ritter fight (?)”

And in classic Ritter fashion, the actor didn’t let the moment pass without chiming in – with wit, love, and just a hint of possessiveness. Responding to the comment, Ritter hilariously responded:

“Yes I can fight.”

The witty response garnered over three million views and over 50,000 likes. Many were amused by his answer, but it didn’t deter his wife’s admirers, with one questioning him:

“OKAY BUT CAN YOU????”

Ritter responded “YES” to the comment, hilariously reaffirming his ability and readiness to fight for his beautiful wife. The interactions gained more traction, with another user questioning his fighting ability by reminding him of his on-screen defeat in the drama series, “Raising Dion.”

“But Jason you EASILY were overpowered by being stabbed with a lightning rod,” they wrote. 

To that, Ritter responded:

“Okay but in my defense he was 6.”

The actor charmed and entertained fans on social media, with others jokingly threatening to team up against the actor. His wife’s stunning dress certainly made them one of the best-dressed couples on the red carpet.
