The original video single reached a staggering 1.6 billion streams all around the world. This was more than Nirvana's and Guns 'N Roses top hits.

Universal Music Group (UMG) represents Queen. In order to confirm this information, they checked out all available streaming sources such as YouTube, Deezer, and Spotify.

The chairman of UMG states that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is one of the best songs from one of the greatest bands of all time.

UMG is excited to see that the song is still reaching new fans even more than four decades since it was first released. They go on to say that they are very proud of Queen.

Brian May, the guitarist and one of the founding member of the band is very thankful for all of the new fans.

The song was written by Freddie Mercury and has had quite a boost since the release of a movie about Mercury. Rami Malek has had the privilege of playing Mercury.

In only five weeks from the release of the film, it had grossed a whopping $600 million. This is the highest that any box office has made from a musical biopic. Even more, Malek is up for nomination of a Golden Globe for the role he plays. He may even be up for an Oscar nomination in the following year.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" had topped the UK's Christmas top song twice now. It's even been on the top of the charts in other areas like the UK for a consecutive nine weeks now. This is a record there.
