However, the Queen has knighted a handful of important people during her time as the reigning monarch, and has also given people other important titles. Dame Julie Andrews is one of these people as she is incredibly well known, loved and respected for her services to the performing arts.
Andrews was born on Oct. 1, 1935, in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England. She grew up with a love of the arts, and it’s clear that she has made a very admirable contribution to them as time has gone on, so much so that the Queen even gave her the title of Dame for all of her hard work and dedication to acting and singing.
The star first began appearing in stage performances in the mid-1940s before going on to make it big in later years.
