I Would Like To Thank The People Who Loved Me At My Most Unlovable

To all the people that help to keep me upright when my legs give out and I start falling to the ground, thank you. Thank you for being my better set of legs when mine doesn’t want to work anymore. For allowing me to rest on your strength when I believe that everyone else in the world wants to see me fail. Thank you for balancing, for keeping me firmly planted in the ground, and for giving me stability and a foundation in order to hold myself up from.
Whenever I tend to be a little clumsy and I happen to fall, you’ve always been there to help me back up. To all the people that tell me it’s okay that I’m emotional, thank you. Thank you for being sympathetic about my sensitive soul and refusing to tell me that I should be stronger. You let me be myself, and let me love with my entire heart. You tell me that not everything has to be able to fit into a box. Some things are allowed to spill.

Even on the days when I am my worst, you still care about me. To all of the people who encourage me to speak even when my voice is cracking, thank you. Thank you for being my reminder that my internal perspective, thoughts, and emotions are important. Some days I just stay silent, but others it’s important for me to speak up. You respect both of these types of days from me, and I love and appreciate you for that.
To all of the people who know me, inside and out, and are aware of exactly what I’m capable of, thank you. Thank you for sticking around through it all. Thank you for seeing my faults and cracks and still choosing to be a part of my life.
Thank you for being aware that I am not always the person I put on a facade to be and loving my insides. You’ve seen me at my worst, my darkest, when my facade collapsed, and when the real me comes out. You keep telling me that I’m worthy and that nothing changes when I have a bad day. Thank you.
To all of the people that continue to love me even though sometimes I can be troublesome and unloveable, thank you. Thank you for providing me with the means to understand the true meaning of friendship, intimacy, and affection. You are the amazing part about this cruel world. You are all of the reasons that I’m starting to feel good about myself and see the bright side of things. Thank you.
