Husband Builds Off-Road Wheelchair For His Wife In Order To Help Wife Go On Adventures

This world of ours is full of adventure and beautiful places to see and explore, but it's not always accommodating to those with severe disabilities. Cambry Kaylor knows these limitations all too well as she was involved in an equestrian accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down in 2005. Luckily for Cambry, her now-husband Zack Nelson would develop an innovative invention that would change her life forever.

Known as JerryRigEverything on social media platforms, Zack engineers thoughtful creations that simplify everyday life. Meeting the paralyzed love of his life switched the gears for Nelson, and he began to develop an idea for an all-terrain wheelchair that would allow Cambry to accompany him on whatever adventures life may send their way.
The Not-A-Wheelchair, or "The Rig," as the couple at times refers to the gadget, is not the first project Zack completed for Cambry. Before they were wed, Zack used titanium from Cambry's first wheelchair to construct his own wedding band.

The couple was married in 2018, and not long after their nuptials, the pair introduced "The Rig" to the world. In an interview with media outlet Bored Panda, Zack enlightens the public on just how challenging this life-changing feat was to accomplish. Zack told the interviewer:
The toughest challenge when developing Not-A-Wheelchair is the price. We wanted to create something that is affordable for everyone. Finding quality components, and a simple enough design at the cheapest price possible took quite a bit of time. But I think we have something now that everyone will be able to enjoy, at a fraction of the cost of other 'off-road wheelchairs' currently on the market.
With their first prototype completed in a beautiful light blue, Zack and Cambry quickly began to tweak their new invention so they could share the wonder of unimpeded adventures to the disabled explorers of the world.
There are a few qualifications needed, however, to operate the Not-A-Wheelchair safely. The Rig requires adequate upper body strength and hand coordination to safely use the brakes, throttle, and steer the machine. Operation of the Not-A-Wheelchair also requires clear cognitive functions and quick decision-making abilities so that the driver can remain safe at all times.
You can acquire a rig of your own for the reasonably low price of $4750, over half the cost of other outdoor wheelchairs that don't offer as much freedom as the Not-A-Wheelchair. Although Cambry's favorite color is light blue, you can order yours in black, white, green, red, light blue, pink, and dark green.
The standard fee of $4750 will get you a customized rig with your choice of color, tire style, and a battery that will give you up to 20-miles of drive-time. For another $700, you can add a second battery to the rig that will let you drive for at least 25-35miles before needing to juice up again. When you really want to feel the wind in your hair, these Not-A-Wheelchairs can reach up to 12mph.

With countless adventures to embark on across the globe, you couldn't ask for a better support system than a partner who will go above and beyond to make sure you don't miss a single thing. Zack and Cambry are sure to have many years of fun and excitement with their Not-A-Wheelchair.
