Who’s going to argue with science?
The study was performed in Canada at McMaster University and published in a medical journal. The research comprised more than 130,000 individuals from more than 20 countries around the world. These participants were as young as 35 and as old as 70. All subjects were organized into two basic groups: those that consumed reduced-fat dairy and those that enjoyed full fat.
What was found for this group is that people who consumed two servings of regular cow milk were at a lower risk of strokes and cardiovascular diseases. They also found that while cheese was a major factor, you receive similar benefits from yogurt and milk.
With subjects who consumed less than 0.5 servings daily, mortality rates rose to above 44 percent, and more than 5 percent of those deaths could be contributed to cardiovascular diseases.

A professor at Reading University is working to change this misconception, and he believes that studies such as this one will go a long way in doing that. He also hopes that it will motivate government agencies and consumer groups to update dietary guidelines and the other recommendations that they make.
He also adds that saturated fats from dairy probably aren’t bad for you, and this study backs that up. Saturated fat from butter isn’t good for you, but these other foods kind of got lumped in unfairly.
The lead author of the study as well as others within the Nutrition Epidemiology program at McMaster advised against ruling out dairy products simply due to fatty acids. Dairy products contain a lot of healthy aspects, such as amino acids, vitamins, probiotics, and various fats.

In the meantime, don’t feel bad about snacking on some cheese in the middle of the day. There a lot of benefits. You may even want to call it medicinal.
So, cheese lovers rejoice! After many years of confusion and misconception, we have the truth. What do you think? Let the community know your thoughts about the study as well as your favorite ways to eat cheese!
