Hotel Maid Breaks Down After Looking Under The Blankets

Becoming a hotel maid may not always be the most glamorous job, but it's a job that can help pay the bills. Hotel staff rely on these cleaning services to be done every single day, multiple times a day, to ensure that guests are receiving the very best service possible when they stay the night. From taking care of the laundry to making beds to tidying up room after room, cleaning work is no easy feat as it is incredibly time-consuming.

One unnamed woman in Park City, Utah, really relied on her job as a hotel cleaner and especially relied on the extra tips that guests would sometimes leave. Before acquiring her job, the woman had little to no money and was simply looking for a place to stay. After seeing a "Now Hiring" sign outside of a hotel in her area, she eagerly walked in and asked what the job was for and was quickly taken on by the hotel staff as the new hotel maid.

The service industry can be extremely hard at times, especially with how rude some people can be. Some people can be incredibly demanding with their expectations and even leave nasty remarks or comments. While being a maid wasn't easy or glamorous work, this unnamed woman had put her nose to the grindstone for years as she showed that she was actually incredibly impressive at her job. 

However, in January 2014, she went in for her typical shift at work and came across something that immediately caused her to break down. After going into a guest's room and lifting the blankets on one of the beds, she immediately burst into tears, shocked at what she discovered.

While some people can be incredibly rude to those working in the service industry, others have shown a better side of humanity and have even gone the extra mile to show their appreciation for these workers. Give Back Films is a team that has been active since 2013 and works at giving back to the community, especially those that have helped others and put in some hard, dedicated work. They are a true example of just how generous and kind people can really be.

They have uploaded numerous videos to help inspire others to show their appreciation for others in their own communities and hopefully also give back to those in need, with their channel garnering more than 571,000 subscribers. It's clear that the kind-hearted videos and beautiful message behind their platform have continued to resonate with people from all over the world.

The guys behind Give Back Films are Kyle Office and Josh Gibson. Aside from making Youtube videos, the team also plugs different charities and fundraisers on their Facebook page. Their mission is to help as many people as possible.

Back in 2019, Give Back Films teamed up with Feed the Children to support their 'No Hunger Holidays' campaign to provide food and essentials to those in need during the holiday season.

However, donating food to those in need is not the only way the team is giving back to others. Their 'pay it forward' approach is the uniting theme of all of their videos and the project itself. The men have also encouraged their followers to do their part and send in donations when needed for the projects they personally are working on, including one where they helped an abandoned teen find his forever home.

Their most recent YouTube video is from Jan. 31, 2021, where the men behind Give Back Films came to the rescue of a teenage boy who was abandoned by his mother. In the description of the video, Office and Gibson explained that a boy named David was just 14 years old at the time when his mother abandoned him. His dream was to become a YouTuber, so he has been selling merchandise in the streets to help pay for food and necessities while trying to make his dreams come true.

Because of Office and Gibson's amazing platform, they were able to receive enough donations to help get David back on his feet and show him the love and respect he deserves. Give Back Films explained, "He was recently adopted and opened his own little store. Thank you!"

According to Yahoo, Office, and Gibson of Give Back Films decided to help out an unsuspecting woman who worked as a hotel maid at a hotel in Park City, Utah, back in January 2014. They picked a hotel room to be the location of their surprise and set up cameras all over the room as well as outside the room's windows. Before they went through with their surprise, they learned more about what it was like to be a maid and just how demanding this type of work can really be.

Being a maid is no easy job, which is something many people in the service industry have come to find out. While routine cleaning and standard housework seem simple enough, they can be tiring and draining, especially for people who work long hours. 

Stephanie Land, author of the memoir that inspired the Netflix series "Maid," explained just how challenging this work in the service industry really is while appearing on a podcast back in January 2019. During the interview with NPR, Land talked about how hard it was as she struggled to raise her young daughter while scraping by from her work that involved cleaning houses.

According to NPR, the mother had planned to go to college with the hopes of becoming a writer, but her unplanned pregnancy changed that. After getting out of a horrifying relationship and entering motherhood, she picked up a job through an agency where she cleaned houses and tried to survive on minimum wage as government assistance programs. Land even lived in a homeless shelter for some time, as she continued to work hard to make a better life for herself and for her child.

It's apparent that this type of work is definitely not luxurious or glamorous in any way, but it's work that needs to be done and can help pay the bills. Sadly, many maids and cleaners deal with purposefully messy and rude people. Thankfully, the men behind Give Back Films wanted to show a more positive side of how truly grateful customers can be to those who work in the service industry.

Understanding just how challenging the job can be, Office and Gibson wanted to give back to a woman who worked as a maid at a hotel. She was a talented, hard-worker who always went above and beyond. She truly had a heart of gold and always put her best foot forward.

Speaking with the hotel's manager in a now-viral YouTube video, Office and Gibson found out that the unnamed woman had an inspiring story. The woman was low on cash and had come to the hotel looking for a place to stay. After she spotted the "Now Hiring" sign, she took the job as the new maid and quickly got to work.

"She's done a great job, excellent job," the hotel manager said. "We were running out of towels and everything. We needed to get our laundry done." It seemed like the unnamed woman was this hotel's knight in shining armor. Everything seemed to unfold in the best way possible.

The hotel manager raved about how well the hotel's new cleaner performed. "Well, she went in, and not only did she start the laundry, but she started organizing it," the manager explained. After getting a chance to meet the hotel cleaner themselves, Office and Gibson were just as blown away by how incredible she was.

Gibson and Office were so amazed by the unnamed maid that they even referred to her as "an awesome hotel cleaner," clearly mesmerized by her inspiring story and her dedication to her work. The men of Give Back Films knew that they needed to do something to show the hotel cleaner just how much everyone appreciated her dedication to her work. 

They placed $500 in $20 bills under the sheets of a bed in one of the hotel rooms that the woman was scheduled to clean later that day, according to Yahoo. After getting their cameras and microphones set up, they were ready to capture the well-deserving woman's reaction to her surprise.

After unsuspectedly going into the hotel room to clean it, the hotel maid was met with a life-changing surprise. After lifting the blankets on one of the beds up, she discovered all of the money laid across the sheet, totally to $500. Shocked, she completely stopped in her tracks before finally gathering up the bills. After seeing a sweet note that Office and Gibson had left her, she began to cry even more. The note read: "This is a tip! Enjoy!" with a smiley face drawn at the bottom of the strip of paper.

The hotel cleaner was astonished that someone went out of their way to do something so kind for her. She even tried to return the money but to no avail. Surprised that her manager had been in on the entire stunt, she became even more emotional after being told just how much she deserved the tip. The cleaner's reaction has since been viewed an astonishing 8.9 million times, with the Give Back Films team continuing to inspire others to give back.

The video captured the attention of people from all over the world. Users' comments on the video show that the act of kindness resonated with all sorts of service workers, not just hotel maids. One user wrote:

"My mom used to work as a housekeeper at a hotel, and she told me that she would be happy to even see a dollar as a tip because people didn't really tip them."

Another viewer commented:

"Hard workers should always be appreciated. I've been proud of my mom my whole life. She pumped gas, added oil and cleaned windshields at a gas station during the day and was a riveter building B 29 Bombers on the graveyard shift. Tell people how much you appreciate what they do." 

Another user mentioned how the videos inspired her to do the same:

"My family struggles financially and I know that if someone came up to us and did something like that, we would be absolutely thrilled. We would just be overjoyed. Thank you for giving a little girl hope that good people that do amazing and kind actions are out there in our community somewhere. I wish you only the best of luck for your futures. Your friend, little bug...When I become old enough to work, I plan to work my butt off so I can do amazing acts of kindness like this that show the world what true kindness is. From watching your videos I have learned that just doing random things like you guys do can really make people feel special. Thank you guys so much. This world is just blessed to have such amazing people like you all. : D"
