Two teenagers in Arapahoe County, Colorado were given quite the honor when they were crowned as their school's Homecoming King and Queen. What makes the honor even more special is that both of the students have Down syndrome.
Proud mom Terri Stokes told KDVR that she was so touched when she found out that her son, Noah, had been crowned the king of the court. The moment was even more meaningful when his friend, Khrystya Gordon, was crowned as the queen. The two were voted into the court by their fellow students.

Terri said to KDVR that Noah's school is "warm, loving, and inclusive.” It is clear that she is right. The gushing mother said that she was not expecting Noah to be voted in as Homecoming king at all. Calling the community amazing, Terri said that this is the cherry on top of Noah's amazing experience at school.
Noah also said that he was happy about the honor. He said that he enjoys going to school, primarily because of his nice classmates and friends.
Khrystya's mother, Sheyla Gordon, posted pictures of her daughter's happy moment on Facebook. In addition to being crowned the queen of the dance, Khrystya is also a cheerleader.
It was a time of joy for the school that recently lost a student to suicide. They could definitely use a happy story like this to boost school spirit and morale.
These sweet pictures of the Homecoming king and queen will touch any heart. After you looked at the true happiness on their faces, be sure to spread the love to everyone else that you know.
