The entire crowd at Britain's Got Talent was in tears following a performance by two unlikely performers that appeared on the hit show.

Dave Wardell, a police officer from the small town of Buntingford, walked onto the stage first. After addressing the judges, he mentioned his friend that would be joining his act. The officer's "friend" turned out to be his beloved dog, named Finn.

Wardell continued to introduce his German Shepherd and the special bond that the two share. The officer has been the nine-year-old dog's owner since he was just a puppy. Wardell also mentioned that the duo would be heading home to a large chunk of steak if the performance was successful.

During the performance, Wardell was able to read David William's mind with the help of his magical dog. The duo accurately guessed a word that William's was thinking about in his head. Although the mind-reading caught the attention of the crowd, the rest of the performance elicited the tears. A screen dropped behind Wardell and Finn, and a video began explaining the amazing story behind their inseparable friendship.

Many members of the audience began remembering headlines that had dominated the news networks earlier that year. Finn was the heroic hound who was stabbed in the line of duty to protect his owner. Along with his partner Wardell, Finn was out fighting crime when a criminal stabbed the dog with a large blade.

The K-9 unit was rushed to a vet hospital where the wounds were treated. The veterinarians were able to save the dog. Although the blade had punctured one of Finn's lungs, the attacker had missed the dog's heart by a few inches.

After learning about the amazing story behind the duo of Wardell and Finn, the judges were in tears. Simon Cowell spoke about his disdain for animal cruelty and his respect for Finn. All four judges gave the performance a resounding "yes". Cowell even acknowledged his desire to press the iconic golden buzzer. Unfortunately, he had already used the button on another performance.

Wardell is now attempting to pass Finn's Law to offer more legal protection to service animals. He hopes that the performance on Britain's Got Talent will help raise awareness for the law and animal cruelty in general.
