For most of us, the idea of foster care is hard to even comprehend. Unless you’ve been in the system, it is impossible to truly understand what foster children endure; however, a new video offers an inside look at life for the 400,000 children who are in foster care.

The touching twelve-minute video follows the story of a young girl who is taken from her biological family due to domestic violence. Sent to foster care, the child is forced to deal with not only her conflicting emotions and trauma, but also abusive caregivers who can’t begin to comprehend her deep issues.

Feeling that the world is against her, the child starts to lash out at everyone; even those who are trying their best to reach out.
Only after experiencing the true love of a caring foster mother, can this little girl’s broken heart start to heal.
