They say that cats and dogs are sworn enemies. We'd like to respectfully disagree. And when you've watched this adorable video, you'll see that cats and dogs can actually be the best of friends.

The video was uploaded earlier this month by An, a man in China who just knew that he had to share the adorable interaction between his dog, Duo Duo, and his cat, Snowflake, for the whole world to see. 

When you think of cats and dogs, you typically think of two species that don't like each other and don't mix well together. There's a reason why "fighting like cats and dogs" is a popular phrase in the English language.

Countless movies and TV shows have pitted cats and dogs against each other, and we've been led to believe that these animals are natural enemies. Even their human owners are often forced to choose between being a "cat person" and a "dog person."

But maybe cats and dogs aren't so different after all. And as you're about to see, cats and dogs can be the best of friends when they're raised in a happy, loving environment together.

According to the Daily Mail, An, from China, is the proud owner of a golden retriever named Duo Duo and a white cat named Snowball. According to him, the two animals have been best friends for life after being raised together in his home city of Guangzhou.

This might sound surprising – whoever heard of a dog and a cat being best friends? Surely it's a joke or exaggeration? But when you've watched this video for yourself, you'll see that these pairs are truly the best of friends.

The video starts with Duo Duo licking Snowball's head while Snowball clings to the golden retriever's arm. If you've ever owned cats, you know exactly how they look when they're happy and content. They close their eyes and have sweet little smiles on their faces. And that's exactly how Snowball looks when this video begins.

Snowball happily lets Duo Duo groom his head and gnaw playfully on his ear. The dog cares for Snowball as if he's one of his own puppies. When grooming time is over, Snowball snuggles against Duo Duo and looks as happy and relaxed as a cat can be.

He nuzzles his head against Duo Duo's golden coat. Duo Duo sits on guard as if he's ready to protect his best friend from any possible dangers that might arise.

In an adorable moment that'll have you saying "Aww!" out loud, Snowball buries his head in Duo Duo's coat. There's no doubt that this cat feels incredibly safe with his beloved pooch.

At the end of the clip, Duo Duo protectively lays his head on top of Snowball. The two animals happily snuggle together and drift off into sleep. It's like something out of a Disney movie — but this is much cuter than any animated flick. It's clear that these two animals are going to be best friends for a lifetime.
