Halle Berry Ditches Signature Pixie Cut & Embraces Natural Afro In Unrecognizable Selfie

Halle Berry is one of the most accomplished actresses in Hollywood. Beginning in the industry as a model and beauty queen in the Miss USA pageant, Berry has paved the way for many Black actresses to prosper in film and television. 

She rose to prominence after starring roles in “Father Hood,” “Boomerang,” “The Last Boy Scout,” “The Rich Man’s Wife” and “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” during the 1990s. It was later in the 2000s that Berry was cast as Ororo Munroe or Storm in the Marvel film, “X-Men.” 

In 2001, Berry won the prestigious Academy Award for Best Actress for her outstanding portrayal of a struggling widow in the drama film “Monster's Ball.” She made strides in the film and entertainment industry by becoming the first and, so far, only Black woman who has won the award. 

But before winning an Oscar, Berry also received a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for the television film “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” in 1999. Her recognition has made Berry one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.

Berry is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood. She has striking features, including a symmetrical face, high cheekbones, and full lips. She also has a toned and athletic body, which she has maintained throughout her career. 

Throughout her career, Berry has played a number of sultry and alluring roles, including the iconic Bond girl Jinx in “Die Another Day” and the seductive superhero in “Catwoman.” 

Aside from her acting skills, Berry has also been praised for her undeniable beauty. She wowed when she made a hair transformation in August 2023.

Halle Berry has worn different kinds of hairstyles through the decades, and it seems like she was fearless with her choices as everything complimented her.

According to a list published by W Magazine, the actress has gone through major hair transformations from having braids, long curly locks, and straight brown hair, but she was most regarded for her signature pixie cut that has a different variety of styles and has since changed as she aged.

Her pixie cut also made a big impact in her career as she told in a 2019 interview with InStyle Magazine that chopping her hair made her stand out among other women in her profession, especially when she tried out on the show “Living Dolls” for the role of Emily Franklin.

“I think that was because the directors and producers actually saw me. Before that, I had long hair like every other girl like me. When I got this haircut, I felt like my best self,” she said.

After making the big decision, it later became her signature hairstyle, and the pixie cut became synonymous with Halle Berry.

“It was just all me take it or leave it, love it or hate it… I was who I was,” she added.

Although Berry was known to switch up her hairstyle from here and there whenever she took on a new role or attended red-carpet events, no one was prepared for what she posted in August 2023.

At the time, the actress shared a snap of herself sporting a big afro, to which many fans were shocked as it was a hairstyle that they never saw from the star in the past.

In the caption, Berry wrote, “Sunday serve…my man loves this. Forward all complaints to him @vanhunt."

The actress referred to her partner, singer/songwriter Van Hunt, whom she started dating in September 2020. 

After the star shared her photo and revealed her new hairstyle with the world, fans took to the comment section to commend her for being fearless and not afraid to try out new things.

“You could be bald and you will always look amazing, kudos to your man for this look, you wear it well!🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️,” one wrote.

“Beautiful as always! You can rock any style and look amazing! Shine so beautifully Halle!💛💛🌹,” another one wrote.

“Just a Beautiful woman! You look absolutely Gorgeous all the time! 😍❤️” one commented.

Another one pointed out that they love whenever Berry transforms as they wrote, “I’m loving this evolved & enlightened version of @halleberry Beautiful at every phase of your journey ✨😍❤️”

One commenter noted that other women should be inspired to wear their natural hair, “I wish more women would wear their hair like this. I love aunaturel no frills women. This Rocks hard.”

One user then considered Berry as the person who set standards for Black women like her, “Your beauty has set high standards for is as black women. We trusted our stylists to give is cuts based on your perfect example. Now go ahead and continue to lead us.”

Another user suggested she should wear a specific style of clothing as they wrote, “You would be killing it with some skinny bell bottoms.”
