Gwyneth Paltrow’s Look-Alike Daughter, Apple, Turns 17 In New Pictures

Gwyneth Paltrow is one of Hollywood's most well-known actresses. Ever since the '90s, she's made an impact both onscreen and off. From winning an Oscar for her role in "Shakespeare in Love" to dating equally famous men, such as Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck, Gwyneth lived a charmed life as an actress before becoming a bonafide businesswoman in the 2000s. Launching her wellness and lifestyle brand Goop, which was originally an online newsletter, Gwyneth has since devoted more time to the booming business, which is a pioneer in terms of celebrity lifestyle brands.

But outside of fame and fortune, one aspect of Gwyneth's life that has always been hugely important is family. Gwyneth's parents were in show business — her late father Bruce Paltrow was a revered director and producer, while her mother Blythe Danner is also a famous actress. She even worked on the 1998 movie "Duets" with her father, who directed the film in which Gwyneth starred. 

Then, after marrying Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2003, Gwyneth went on to have a family of her own — a daughter named Apple Martin, who was born in 2004, and a son named Moses Martin, born in 2006. Although Gwyneth and Chris split up in 2016 after 13 years of marriage, they co-parent their two children. Occasionally giving a glimpse into her private life in interviews or on social media, it's fascinating to see the couple's children grow up.

Apple, who is almost like a clone of her mother, turned 17 on May 14, and Gwyneth honored her in a moving Instagram post. What's more, the photo she shared of her teenage daughter shows that as she gets older, she's taking after her even more.

Gwyneth Paltrow posted to her Instagram account on her daughter Apple Martin's birthday on May 14, sharing a photo of the teenager on holiday in a tropical location. Appearing carefree, Apple is wearing her blond hair in beachy waves while she has her long nails painted in bright orange. It's clear that she is Gwyneth's daughter, with her emotive eyes, button nose and sweet smile. Gwyneth captioned the post:

"Can it be? 17 today?? My sweetest girl... YOU ARE MY LIFE! You make me belly laugh every day. You are brilliant and hardworking. You are fully YOU which I respect and admire so much."

Gwyneth then goes on to explain how confident her daughter is, writing alongside the post: 

"I wish I had had even a spoonful of the self-acceptance you have when I was your age. You are so inspiring and just so cool. I remember the morning you came into the world so perfectly, I just can’t believe it was 17 years ago. Happy birthday, my angel."

In the last years, as Apple has grown up into a gorgeous teenager, it's become clearer than ever where she gets her looks from. Looking like an exact replica of Gwyneth — with a little bit of her dad Chris Martin mixed in — Apple is truly a stunning young woman. As she's still in school it's unclear what kind of career she plans to make for herself, but if she wanted to pursue acting like her mother, we imagine she'd have no problem landing any parts.

Gwyneth's birthday post for her daughter was met with many good wishes from famous friends. Everyone from Kate Hudson and Drew Barrymore to Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton wished the teen happy birthday. Hudson commented on how quickly the time has gone by, writing:

"Beautiful Apple, how the days have flown by! Happiest birthday sweet and happy born day to you Mama! Love you both ❤️"

Meanwhile, Barrymore pointed out Apple's kind nature:

"Apple is so kind and you are such a good mom! Wow wow wow!!!!"

A doting mother to both of her children, Gwyneth also shared a similar birthday post for her 15-year-old son Moses Martin on April 8. Alongside two photos of him — one a close-up and the second showing him skateboarding — Gwyneth wrote:

"Holy Moses I can’t believe you are 15 today. You are the dreamiest, sweetest, most brilliant guy ever. I love you so much, you can’t fathom it. Happy birthday you little shredder 💙"

Like Apple, Moses takes after Gwyneth a lot, but he also resembles his dad Chris, too. Gwyneth posts photos with her children frequently, but especially with her daughter. She posted a gorgeous candid black-and-white photo with Apple days before Moses' birthday that shows just how much they look like twins. 

Meanwhile, in November 2020, Gwyneth made a moving post in which she, Apple and Moses are photographed at the resting place of her father Bruce Paltrow, which they visited on his birthday to honor him. She accompanied the post with a moving message:

"Life has incredible highs and lows. Perhaps feeling it all at the same time is the art. 💖"
