Gwen Stefani Honors Her Younger Self As She Celebrates 'Dream' Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Announcement

As a public figure, becoming a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a big honor as it only proves that the person receiving it has worked hard for years in order to achieve where they are in the present. For some, getting their own star is a big dream come true.

This is exactly what Gwen Stefani felt when it was announced that she was a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class 2024.

Announced in June 2023, the musician was not alone in the list as there were also other big celebrities like Michelle Yeoh, Darius Rucker, Brandy Norwood, Sheryl Lee Ralph, the late Chadwick Boseman, and many more.

The public figures were from different categories such as motion pictures, television, recording, theater, sports and the like. 

Stefani is only fitting to become one of the inductees as she has been working in the music industry since 1986.

The musician, who was also one of the coaches for the NBC reality TV singing competition “The Voice,” started her career when her brother, Eric Stefani, invited her to record her vocals for the band No Doubt.

According to Ace Showbiz, the ska band’s career took off as they struck a record deal with Interscope Records in 1991. The following year, they released their first-ever album which was titled after their name.

Since Stefani was already a big name due to her association with No Doubt, she was able to establish a successful solo career which started in 2004 after her debut solo album titled “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.,” was released.

Before Stefani was announced as a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class 2024, her husband, Blake Shelton, received his star in May 2023. 

Weeks before his impending departure from "The Voice," the Hollywood Walk of Fame honored the country music star with his very own star on May 12, 2023. In her speech, Stefani was overflowing with affirmations about her husband. 

“It blows my mind to be here today standing on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating my husband, by the way, Blake Shelton. You are so deserving of this honor, and the boys and I and all of your family, your friends, your colleagues could not be more proud,” she told the crowd. 

Stefani continued to gush about her other half as she said in her speech that the reason why Shelton was part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame was that he is a part of the country dream, the Hollywood dream and the American dream.

She continued: “Everybody knows you are my dream come true. I love you,” which touched her husband and the crowd. 

Shelton was visibly happy throughout the ceremony, and he also gave back the love that his wife gave him that day as he told the crowd that he stopped “checking things off my list of great accomplishments” when he married her and he explained that receiving the star was “just the icing on the cake.”

"I love you so much, and that's the great thing that's happened along this journey,” he told his wife among the crowd.

Stefani celebrated the big news of her impending Walk of Fame star on her official Instagram account as she shared two photos of herself in July 2023 to commemorate the announcement. The first photo featured her younger self, while the second one was an older version of Stefani who was visibly happy as she sported a green outfit.

In the caption, the artist revealed how much of a big deal it was to be a part of such a list as she wrote, “who’s gonna tell her she’s receiving a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star?! this feels like a dream 🌟!! thank u to everyone who made this possible 💖 gx.”

Fans immediately bombarded the comment section after she posted the heartwarming caption as many of them congratulated her for the success.

“The most deserving ever!! congratulations!!! The impact you continue to have on people is incredible. I love you so much, queen!!” one wrote.

“Who’s gonna tell her she’s a role model and an inspiration to so many younger women, a worldwide star, an incredible woman, mother, and wife? Love you,” another fan wrote, referring to the little girl in the picture.

One of the main reasons why Stefani became a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class 2024 was because of the Selection Committee who hand-picked a group of honorees from different categories in the industry.

Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K commended the committee for doing an amazing job in choosing “these very talented people,” and said she couldn’t wait to see their reactions upon knowing that they had been a part of the honoring list.
