Group Of Young Dancers Transform Judges’ Skepticism Into Golden Buzzer Moment

Most people love to dance as it is a liberating form of expression and a great form of exercise. Losing yourself to the music and letting it take over you is one of the best ways to also release stress. With the number of dance forms that can be found around the world, it seems like dance is an inherent part of being human. After all, even those of us that don't like to dance can't deny that our feet begin tapping away involuntarily when a catchy song comes on.

While most of us like dancing, there are also people who make dancing their biggest passion in life. In our world, though, unless you are the best of the very best, making money as a dancer becomes difficult. This is where reality megahit talent shows come in: talented dancers that want to become more serious about their craft come on stage to show judges they have what it takes to be a famous dancer.

Serious dancers always strive to get to a level where they are able to undertake their craft professionally, and talent shows seem to be one of the best ways to do so. For this group of dancers from the UK, who auditioned on the 2015 series of the show "Britain's Got Talent," it would be a dream come true to make something more of their love for dancing. In fact, they gave such a stunning performance that they were awarded the golden buzzer. If you're someone who loves dancing, this video is sure to make your day.

As the five guys walk onto the stage, everyone assumes they must be another boy band, especially as the diverse group seems quite put together and excited. Even Simon Cowell asks, "What are you going to sing?" as soon as they step on the stage, which is saying something since Cowell's keen instincts are generally correct. The group has to tell the judges that they are actually dancers and all the judges, including Cowell, are clearly confused as the group's actual name is "Boyband." In the beginning, the group members clearly enjoy themselves as they giggle through their introduction.

As they begin their dance, the routine is great but nothing special yet. The beats of "Uptown Funk" are exciting for everyone and within a minute of their dancing, the group shows their true caliber as each member performs a spectacular and unique flip each — from backflips to frontflips to side flips, this "Boyband" is a special group for sure! Their performance had the moves of seasoned dancers which lit the stage of fire. As the routine went on, the audience was clearly drawn in by the performance as were the judges, because as the group ended their routine, they received a standing ovation from everyone. Most noticeably, Simon Cowell looked extremely impressed, which does not happen often.

Before the judges could say anything, the hosts of "Britain's Got Talent" Ant & Dec ran onto the judge's podium in a frenzy. It looked like they knew what the judges were thinking and with their actions, sent anticipation coursing through the stage.

From the looks of it, the group seems to be thinking, "Is it really going to happen?" Both Ant and Dec end up sitting on either side of the coveted golden buzzer, and after waiting a couple of seconds, they press it and set the stage ablaze with glitter and lights. The performance had been truly phenomenal and the dancing group was celebrated for the excellence the five young men showed on stage. The members of "Boyband" are also overcome with joy and they show it by doing a number of backflips and barrel rolls as they are showered with confetti. It is a moment that the group will remember for the rest of their lives.

While the group's amazing dance moves did get them into the semi-finals of that season, they, unfortunately, did not go onto the finals as they didn't get enough votes. However, the judges chose the group as their "wildcard" entry, which goes to show that they truly had faith in "Boyband" to do something amazing for the finals! While their final performance was commended, they did not end up winning the season.

There have been no recent updates on the group, but "Boyband" was mired in a small controversy after their first performance. The Daily Mail reported that the group's members, Corey Culverwell, 18, Dylan Mayoral, 18, Jaih Betote, 17, Mike Ureta 19, Mike McNeish, 18, all ages taken from the time of the video in 2015, were actually seasoned dancers thanks to their stint on other competitions and not the amateurs they made themselves out to be. The group insisted that they never "deceived" anyone in an interview with Digital Spy

"We didn't deceive anyone, it's not like that at all. Lots of contestants on "Britain's Got Talent" have a past - not everyone just comes on "Britain's Got Talent" from nothing and just goes on. We entered "Got to Dance" and it was a great competition to do, and now we're on "Britain's Got Talent." It doesn't put us at an advantage at all," said Mayoral.

The young men were also asked if they were worried that the reports would throw a negative light on their future performances, to which Mayoral responded, "Talent is talent at the end of the day. So if people really appreciate our act and what we're trying to do and our aim to inspire then I don't think it's a big deal. I don't think it's a negative. I think the press are really pushing it in a negative light."

They did not let this ruin their excitement after they received the golden buzzer, however, and were proud of what they were able to achieve. They were also asked about choosing "Boyband" as a name and how it came about. "We didn't actually choose our name but we definitely wouldn't change it now - it's definitely sticking with us. Our name came from one of our mentors a few years back, because we all came from the same dance company, and one of our mentors basically said that we looked like a boyband. It was kind of a name that just stuck from then," said Culverwell.

We are sure that everyone who has seen this group perform will remember the name "Boyband" for a long time!
