Grandma Displays What Her Body Looked Like A Decade Ago Before Covering It In Tattoos

When it comes to lifestyle, many people have different ways and approaches to it. These include either switching it up, upgrading, or maintaining a pre-existing lifestyle. For Kerstin Tristan, a social media personality and grandma, lifestyle meant transforming the entirety of her body into a canvas for beautiful tattoos. 

Tristan, who is from Germany, lives by the saying that we all live just once, and this applied to how she switched things up concerning her looks. In 2021, the media sensation invited “Hooked on the Look” into her home, where she opened up on her journey to getting her tattoos as well as life before her ink-loving lifestyle. 

Tristan noted that about five years before her first ink, she disliked tattoos. However, 2015 was the turning point. When the Leipzig native first got inked, she opted for three colorful lilies mapped out on the back of one of her upper arms. She never looked back from there, as she went on to cover her whole body in intricate, vibrant tattoos, all honoring nature. 

Many of Tristan’s tattoos are large flowers, birds, and other animals. She revealed that she loved to think of herself as a beautiful work of nature. In her words: 

“When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love. I haven’t regretted any of my tattoos. One cannot regret flowers. They are so beautiful.”

Tristan said she got tattoos because “I simply couldn’t stand my skin anymore.” Since venturing into her avant-garde lifestyle, she has had 90% of her skin outlined with inks. Tristan noted that she spent about € 35,000 (about $37,000) of her life savings on the tattoos.

Her hair color also compliments the colorful appearance of her body. Tristan, who used to be blonde, started rocking splashes of dyed hair colors to match her overall aesthetics.

Despite facing criticisms over her love of tattoos, Tristan gathered a large following on social media. She has over 190,000 admirers on Instagram, where she flaunts her eye-catching form. She also has over one million followers on TikTok. 

Away from social media, Tristan’s friends are supportive of her lifestyle, and they do not mind the looks she gets when they walk together. She revealed to “Hooked on the Look” that her pals got used to it. 

At one point during the interview, Tristan answered the doorbell to let her manager in. The pair then proceeded to go over her throwback images from the past decade. In one of the Polaroid photos, the stylish grandma noted that she was 38 years old. “Unbelievable, horrible hair!” Tristan exclaimed as she reflected on her past look. 

She looked at more pictures on her crystal-encrusted smartphone, showing one image from when she was 42. She noted that she had no tattoos yet. The image presented her bare skin as she rocked a pair of green bum shorts and a purple bohemian vest. Tristan also rocked her blonde tresses in the photo. 

The internet personality who had always loved photoshoot sessions showed another photo of herself rocking another chic look while posing for the camera. 

Tristan concluded her reflection by noting that although she received negative comments from outsiders, she was focused on living her life. She added, “One is never too old for tattoos. It’s my life and one lives just one life.”
