Grace Kelly’s Family Tree: A Look At Star’s Grandchildren

Grace Kelly was a legendary American actress that starred in many prominent films in the early to mid-1950s. In April 1956, Kelly became Princess Grace of Monaco by marrying Prince Rainier III. 

Kelly rose to fame after graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1949. One of her first popular film appearances was in “Mogambo” in 1953, which also starred Clark Gable and Ava Gardner. Kelly was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Linda Nordley.

A year later, Kelly won the Academy Award for her performance in the film “The Country Girl.” The star is also remembered for her work in Hitchcock's “Rear Window,” “Dial M for Murder” and “To Catch a Thief.” The actress retired from show business at age 26 in order to devote her time to her princess duties after marrying Prince Rainier III. 

Kelly took her role as a princess very seriously and dedicated her time to helping others.

In 1964, the star created the Princess Grace Foundation which supported local artisans. She also focused her charity work on children and created the organization AMADE Mondiale, which supports the development, education, and health of children worldwide. The organization even gained consultative status with UNICEF and UNESCO. 

Prince Rainier and Princess Grace had three children together, Princess Caroline, Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie. Her children grew up well and had kids of their own. Altogether Kelly has 11 grandchildren, and here is a guide to help you learn how they are all related.

Charlotte Casiraghi

Charlotte graduated from Sorbonne University in Paris and has had a career as both an equestrian and a model. She currently works as a journalist and film producer. Charlotte has three children and married Dimitri Rassam in 2019.

Pierre Casiraghi

Born: September 5, 1987, at Princess Grace Hospital Centre in La Colle, Monaco
Parents: Princess Caroline of Hanover and Stefano Casiraghi
Line of Succession: 8th

Pierre is the majority shareholder of Monacair and his father's company, Engeco. He enjoys inshore racing and car racing. He married Beatrice Borromeo and they have two children together.

Andrea Casiraghi

Born: June 8, 1984, at Princess Grace Hospital Centre in La Colle, Monaco
Parents: Princess Caroline of Hanover and Stefano Casiraghi
Line of Succession: 4th

Born to Kelly’s eldest daughter, Caroline, Andrea is her first grandchild. Tragically, Andrea was only 6-years-old when his father passed away in a boating accident. Andrea married Tatiana Santo Domingo in 2013 and the couple has three children together.

Louis Ducruet

Line of Succession: 14th

Louis’ father is Princess Stephanie’s former bodyguard, and their relationship caused quite the scandal. Prince Rainier did not allow Princess Stephanie and Ducruet to marry until 1995, which was after Louis and his sister were already born.  

Pauline Ducruet

Pauline is a fashion designer and graduated from Parsons school of Design in 2017. She once said of her grandmother, "Most of the things that I know about her and stories that I’ve heard are from my mom. She would talk about how she was as a mother and not as the big actress that she was. After a while, I got to know who she was as an icon, and I’m so proud of this."

Jazmin Grace Grimaldi

Born: March 4, 1992, Palm Springs, California
Parents: Prince Albert II of Monaco and Tamara Rotolo
Line of Succession: Not eligible

When she was in eighth grade, it was revealed that Jazmin was the illegitimate daughter of Prince Albert II. In 2006, she created the Jazmin Fund which helps improve the lives of people living in Fiji.

Camille Rose Gottlieb

Parents: Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and Jean-Raymond Gottlieb
Line of Succession: Not eligible

Camille is Princess Stephanie’s youngest child. She is not eligible to the throne because her parents were never married. The identity of her father was kept hidden from the public throughout her life.  

Princess Alexandra of Hanover

Born: July 20, 1999, in Vöcklabruck, Austria
Parents: Princess Caroline of Hanover and Prince Ernst August of Hanover
Line of Succession: 12th

Princess Alexandra is a descendant of Queen Victoria on her father’s side. She is also an accomplished figure skater and hopeful fashion designer.  

Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco

Born: December 10, 2014, at Princess Grace Hospital Centre in La Colle, Monaco
Parents: Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene of Monaco
Line of Succession: 1st and 2nd

Even though they are twins, only Prince Jacques is the heir apparent to the throne. The twins are adorable and have already captured the hearts of the public. Their mother, Princess Charlene is a former Olympic swimmer. 

Alexandre Eric Stéphane Grimaldi-Coste

Born: August 24, 2003, Paris, France
Parents: Prince Albert II of Monaco and Nicole Coste
Line of Succession: Not eligible

Alexandre is the child of former Air France flight attendant Nicole Coste and Prince Albert. His mother now owns a fashion label and he maintains a good relationship with his father and they are seen together frequently.
