'Good Times' Star John Amos' Son KC Amos Is Spitting Image Of His Dad And Works As A Video Editor

Actor John Amos' only son, Kelly Christopher Amos, looks just like him. Better known as KC Amos, John's son works as a video editor but has also dabbled in acting just like his father and has even been nominated for a Grammy.

John Amos is best known for his roles in the television series, Good Times, and the miniseries, Roots. 

The 80-year-old actor went on to star in many more series after that, as well as some movies, one of which is the upcoming Coming 2 America, the sequel to Coming to America starring Eddie Murphy, scheduled for release on December 31, 2020. The actor's legacy is one that remains but could be outlived by his son, Kelly Christopher Amos, better known as KC Amos.

KC is John's only son, and he looks just like him. Like his father, he has dabbled in acting as well as some directing work and even has a Grammy nomination to his name. He is mainly known, however, as a video editor who loves his work, as shown on his regular posting about it on his social media. Even more, KC enjoys spending time with his father, who makes appearances on KC's instagram often. 

In one such post, the video editor shared a picture of himself and his famous dad at the Extra studio, where they were for an interview. In the caption, he wrote: 

"Had a great time w the 'Extra' team today. Interview should air this evening." 

In a blog post for Father's Day, KC shared the memories he had of his dad as a young boy. "As a child, I recall spending moments watching television and seeing my dad enter the living room of his TV family and greet them for dinner. Then when he had days off and when we would be out having lunch off the set, people would come over and say he was their hero as a dad," he wrote.

"I saw that his role [in Good Times] was more than a job; that he was actually helping people through his role as a strong father dedicated to mentoring his TV kids. There were life lessons learned in each weekly episode. It was amazing to watch the show become a hit series, changing the face of television sitcoms, particularly in terms of shows that depicted African-American families."

KC also shared another sweet memory he had with his father while he helped him rehearse his lines for the movie Ballers. The post was particularly adorable because in it the father-son duo wore similar white collared t-shirts and it even had a photo of both of them in a car looking away from the camera.

Before going on to star on Good Times, John Amos played the role of Gordy the weatherman on the CBS series, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where he acted in for the first three seasons. In a 2015 interview with Vulture, the Newark native actor spoke about his journey to starring in the show, which proved difficult then because of his background as a writer.
