Goldie Hawn’s Youthful Glow At 78 Is All Down To Her No-Nonsense Beauty Regimen & Green Juice

Despite being in her 70s, Goldie Hawn has proven time and again that age is just a number. One of the contributing factors to her youthful-looking glow is her active lifestyle, as seen in her social media posts. Hawn has had a prolific acting career throughout her life, but she has never let that get in the way of her personal life and taking good care of herself.

Hawn has easily become a household name over her many years in the entertainment industry. Born on Nov. 21, 1945, in Washington, D.C., Hawn had one sister growing up and was raised Jewish. Hawn became the “It” girl of the 1960s when she was cast as a regular on the sketch comedy show “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In,” which aired from 1968 until 1973.

After working as an actress on television for a few years, she shifted her career focus and headed for the big screen. She earned two Oscar nominations, one for the 1969 film “Cactus Flower” — for which she won — and the other in 1981 for “Private Benjamin.” Other well-known roles of hers over the years include “Shampoo,” “Overboard,” “The Banger Sisters,” “Bird on a Wire,” “Death Becomes Her” and “The First Wives Club.” 

Hawn is also one-half of one of Hollywood's most enduring couples. Hawn turned 78 years old in 2023, while her partner, actor Kurt Russell, is five years her junior. Over the course of almost four decades together, the pair have built a beautiful, blended family full of talented individuals. Among them is her daughter Kate Hudson, also a renowned actress in her own right. With a beautiful and iconic mother like Hawn, Hudson frequently cites her as her beauty and fashion role model, and it’s not hard to see why!

In October 2022, Hawn shared an Instagram video in which she donned a black bodysuit while effortlessly doing her workout routine, encouraging her followers to do physical exercises such as jumping on a trampoline and using large wine bottles as an alternative for dumbbells. She also reminded them to relax and thank themselves for prioritizing their well-being. 

“The great news is that exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous or take a long time to make us feel good. Studies show low or moderate intensity exercise is enough to make a difference in our mood, behavior and thinking patterns,” Hawn wrote in the caption, proving that self-care and fitness don’t have to come at such an excruciating price.

As for her beauty regimen, Hawn extends her love for simplicity here as well. She told Rescu:

“I don’t know if I’d call it beauty, or more just ‘taking care of.’ I wash my face every night and I massage it for about three minutes and then I put creams on my face and I go to sleep. And then I wake up in the morning and do the same thing!”

“I don’t do much. I was using coconut oil for a while on my face. My mom used to do lemon — she’d squeeze lemon, and she’d put it on her face,” Hawn also told ET Canada.

We love a stress-free routine! The same principle appears to apply to Hawn’s haircare regimen, which she surprisingly said has not seen the end of a dyeing brush – ever.

“I know it sounds strange, but I’ve never colored my hair. I just put a regular rinse on it because I don’t have any chemicals on it,” she told Allure. 

It’s no wonder Hudson would want to do everything she could to emulate her stunning mother.

In one interview together, the mother-daughter duo were in agreement about most things beauty-wise.

“I put on a little sun guard in the morning when I remember and the rest of it is just making sure that you’re hydrated and that you eat a lot of oil-based foods or oils and smile a lot,” Hawn explained, sentiments Hudson echoed when she said, “Mine is pretty similar except I can’t use many products on my face because if it’s over-stimulated it goes crazy.” They both also emphasized the importance of the basics.

“I think sleep is also important!” Hawn exclaimed as Hudson piped in: “Yes! Sleep, water!”

Hudson also revealed a few beauty secrets passed down to her from her famous mother, such as her green juice.

“Mom’s been drinking green juice forever. And taking teaspoons of olive oil. We love products and we have fun with products, but in terms of the real stuff that I’ve learned from mom, it’s her lifestyle. She was always healthy and active and drinking something green,” Hudson said.

Meanwhile, Hawn also cited the virtues of self-love and focusing on things outside of aesthetics to feel youthful.

“I also glance a lot at my face, but I don’t study it. I’m not a studier of my face, of my beauty,” Hawn said.

Another secret to keeping Hawn feeling beautiful? Her adoring partner, Russell.

“The other night, we were going to go have dinner. He looks at me and goes, ‘You’re unbelievable.’ He said, ‘I cannot believe how (beautiful) you look.’ He really appreciates that,” Hawn gushed
