Goldie Hawn, 78, Wows Onlookers As She Busts A Move Dancing To ‘Cha Cha Slide’ In A Shopping Center

Despite being in her 70s, Goldie Hawn has proven time and again that age is just a number. One of the contributing factors to her youthful-looking glow is her active lifestyle, as seen in her social media posts. Hawn has had a prolific acting career throughout her life, but she has never let that get in the way of her personal life.  

She gained prominence on the NBC comedy show “Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In” in the late '60s up until the '70s. But it wasn’t until 1969 that she first earned her Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Toni Simmons in “Cactus Flower.” 

After that, Hawn’s career took off. She appeared in films like “There's a Girl in My Soup,” “Butterflies Are Free,” “The Sugarland Express,” “Shampoo,” “Foul Play,” “Seems Like Old Times” and “Private Benjamin,” with the latter earning her first Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. 

Hawn’s most recent projects were “Snatched,” “SPF-18,” “The Christmas Chronicles” and “The Christmas Chronicles 2,” where she played Mrs. Klaus. She is also a highly-nominated actress at the Golden Globe Awards, but has only won once for "Cactus Flower." She received various nominations over the years including for the movies “The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox,” “The Banger Sisters” and “Best Friends,” among others. 

Despite being in the industry for so long already, Hawn has defied ageism and youth as she remained young at heart and active at 78 years old. In a video posted on her Instagram account, the Oscar-winning actress proved that when good music plays on the stereo, there is no choice but to dance, even if it is in a public place like a shopping center! Hawn is looking fabulous at 78, so it’s no surprise that the actress pairs her active lifestyle with a healthy diet. She told People Magazine in 2020 that not only does she keep things simple and fresh in the kitchen, but she doesn’t go overboard when filling her plate.

“I don’t eat a lot,” Hawn said and added: “I think we overeat. (And) I drink my green juice every day! I do a lot of juicing, I don’t put a lot of food in my stomach and I don’t mix my foods too much. So if I want to have like protein I’ll just eat a bowl of lentils, I won’t mix it with a bunch of stuff.”

Hawn has maintained an active lifestyle even if she's not hitting the gym. The grandmother of seven has kept her body moving as she does some household chores. 

In an Instagram video posted on Aug. 7, 2020, Hawn was seen gliding around the kitchen as she boogied to Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” while she did the dishes. 

“Washing dishes doesn’t have to be a chore, it can be a dance! 💃🏼 It’s all up to us ❤️🍽” she happily wrote in the caption.

In another clip posted on Aug. 29, 2021, Hawn and her son Wyatt Russell were shown hand-in-hand dancing to the music of buskers on the street. 

“Nothing like spontaneously dancing with your children!! #happymaking,” Hawn captioned the post.

Hawn’s active lifestyle is absolutely inspiring, and we’re definitely on board if it helps us look anywhere near as good as she does in her 70s!

Many have seen Hawn dancing in the comforts of her own home and even on the street with her children, but the actress dancing in public at a shopping center is a new feat! 

In a new post on her Instagram account, the 78-year-old actress posted a video of herself dancing at a shopping center with shoppers in a dance line!

“Can’t waste a good song… even if everyone is watching 💃🏼,” she wrote on Instagram. 

In the video, Hawn walked by a group of shoppers dancing to DJ Casper’s iconic “Cha Cha Slide.” As she approached the group confidently, one shopper escorted her to the middle – to the delight of everybody. 

Hawn graciously and spontaneously danced with the shoppers, following the very instructional dance steps that the song offered. The actress’ smile beamed from ear to ear as she danced as if she was in her 20s. 

Comments on her Instagram post were filled with adoration for Hawn, who has been a joy to watch as she filled everyone with delight on her Instagram posts. 

“This is why I always have been and always will be a huge fan!!! That extends to your entire family. Just amazing people who know how to… be people,” a fan shared. 

“Goldie, you are my spirit animal! My husband worked at your house many years ago and he always says how cool your vibe is and that our spirits are so similar. You’re just an awesome human! ✌🏻❤️🤗,” another commented. 

The post came weeks after the actress celebrated the birthday of her partner of decades, Kurt Russell, who turned 72 on March 17, 2023. The couple, despite not being married, has a blended family with their four children – Oliver and Kate Hudson, and Wyatt and Boston Russell.
