Girl Moved To Tears When Mom Surprises Her With Last-Minute Tickets To Taylor Swift Concert

Some mothers just know the perfect way to brighten their children’s day. One mom took this to a whole other level when she surprised her daughter with tickets to a Taylor Swift concert just hours before it started!

Well aware of her daughter’s love of the pop star and “Swifties” status, Haley Pierce decided to gift her daughter, Addison, with tickets to a show in Atlanta in May 2023. She also decided to film her daughter’s reaction to the surprise so we could all share in their joy. 

In a video uploaded to TikTok, Addison could be seen sitting in the passenger seat of their car as she unfolded a printout of the tickets. When the moment of realization hit, she turned to her mom with her mouth agape, stunned by it all. “We’re going right now. Your bags are packed and everything,” Pierce could be heard saying from behind the camera. Addison then reached out to hug her mother before rolling back in her seat with her hands over her mouth in a reaction of pure joy. As she wiped tears from her eyes, she said “Thank you,” to her mom. “I hope you packed me a better outfit than this,” she also said, while both mom and daughter laughed.

The video then cut to a montage of the mother and daughter – who had changed into a white smocked top with pink shorts – singing along at the concert and posing for pictures at the venue with their matching friendship bracelets. The pair looked like they were having the time of their lives, and Addison is sure to remember her mom’s sweet gesture for the rest of her life.

In the caption of the video, Pierce referred to the ticketing debacle that had plagued Swift’s “The Eras Tour” and wrote, “ERAS tour Atlanta 04/29 was unforgettable. After fighting ticketmaster, being scammed for tickets, and lots of tears we got tickets. I surprised her last minute. Thank you Taylor for making both of our dreams come true!”

In November 2022, when tickets for Swift’s tour stops became available, high demand caused a sales fiasco that was blamed on American ticket sales company Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation Entertainment’s poor ticketing model. Not only did a surge in demand cause the company’s website to crash, millions of legitimate fans were stuck in a frozen queue as scalpers scooped up a large number of tickets that were resold elsewhere. Ticketmaster and Live Nation were widely criticized by fans for their ineptitude as well as by politicians, who began to call for further checks into the 2010 merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation over claims of breaching antitrust laws.

Senator Amy Klobuchar, who oversaw the US Senate committee on consumer rights, told MSNBC Ticketmaster was responsible for 70% of ticket sales in the US and that “in truth, there is no other choice. … It is a monopoly.” 

Swift also took her Instagram Stories to address the scandal and said she was “pissed off” and found the fiasco “excruciating.”

Luckily, Pierce managed to snag the highly sought-after tickets and created a beautiful memory with her daughter that would last a lifetime. Viewers melted at the mom’s wonderful gift. One user said:

“The fact that she said ‘thank you’ first I know made all the tears and fighting for tickets worth it!! 🥰 you’re doing a great job mama!!!! ✨✨”
