Girl Falls In Love With Shelter Dog While Volunteering - So Her Parents Surprise Her By Adopting Him

Everyone loves a good Christmas story when a dog is the ultimate gift. This particular story is even better because of the amazing twist.

When Hallee Fuqua began begging her parents for a dog, they were adamant that the college student finish her studies at Oklahoma State University before she made that kind of commitment. So instead, Hallee began volunteering her time at Humane Society of Stillwater so that she could still be around dogs.

Even though she started the volunteer position just before Thanksgiving, it did not take long for Hallee to form a bond with a dog named Rambo. Hallee said although the other dogs were hyper and excitable, Rambo would just snuggle up next to her. The two were inseparable during Hallee's volunteer shifts, going for walks and hanging out together.

Hallee wanted to share her love for Rambo with her family so she began sending them videos of her with the sweet dog. Because of all these videos, it became clear to Lance and Jessica Fuqua that their daughter should become Rambo's official owner. Lance said that he and his wife felt in their hearts that Rambo should be a part of their family.

A plan was hatched to make Hallee's dream possible just in time for Christmas. Lance contacted the shelter where Rambo lived and arranged for Rambo to be marked as "available" online so that Hallee would not be thrown off.

When Hallee found out that Rambo had been adopted, she was happy that he would have a family but also sad that she would not be able to visit with him any longer. She was in for the surprise of a lifetime!

In a touching video that Lance posted on Facebook on December 18, we see Hallee's reaction when she realizes that Rambo is hers forever. Hallee said it took her a few seconds to figure out that her family had been the ones to adopt Rambo.

Her family posted the video in an effort to raise awareness about all the good that the Humane Society does for so many animals. They are encouraging to viewers to donate money to their local organization.
