While most people know him as Winston Zeddemore from the hit movie "Ghostbusters," Ernie Hudson has been largely quiet about his personal life.
Hudson first rose to fame in 1984 with the release of "Ghostbusters." He was also featured in the 1989 sequel to the popular franchise. These appearances have endeared him to his many fans.
When it comes to marriage, the actor took a different route than many of his Hollywood counterparts by marrying at the young age of 18. Hudson had just graduated from high school when he married Jeanie Moore. What is even more surprising is that Moore was only 16 at the time, reports People.
The young married couple soon moved to Detroit after graduation where Hudson took a job at Chrysler’s tank plant as a matching operator. Hudson was in his early 20s when he realized that he wanted to be an actor. Because of this passion, he made the decision to study drama at Wayne State University.

Hudson's big break came when he was in his late 30s and he landed the role of Winston on "Ghostbusters." While it was the role that he had been searching for, his love life was not faring as well. According to reports, Hudson had not been getting along with his high school sweetheart, in large part because the couple had to spend long amounts of time away from each other as he was looking for acting jobs.
The two split in 1975 and it did not take Hudson long to meet the love of his life. The actor met flight attendant Linda Kingsberg when he was starring in “The Great White Hope” during its Minneapolis run.
Although the couple immediately fell for each other, Hudson was hesitant to commit to Kingsberg because she was white. At the time, Hudson was worried that the two would get flack for being an interracial couple. His fears were not unfounded. The couple experienced racism when realtors would not want to show them properties. They also had people tell them that they should not have children because the kids would only be confused.

These sons joined Hudson's boys from his first marriage, Ernest Jr. and Rocky. Today, Hudson and his second wife have already been married for over three decades and are still going strong.
