Gender Reveal Goes Wrong When Little Girl Cries Over News Of Getting ‘Another Brother’

Raising children is an incredible experience for parents. Over the years, they get to watch their little ones grow up and really find themselves as they explore their individuality and get a better grasp on their own identity. Some parents don’t mind whether they have sons or daughters, while others hope to have a mix of both. 

Having siblings is a great way for kids to start socializing with others and know that they always have a friend. However, it’s not uncommon for kids to want to socialize with other children that are the same sex as them, meaning that little boys may hope to have brothers while little girls may hope to have sisters. Think about all of the fun toys, clothes and experiences they could share together!

Unfortunately, for one little girl, her dream of having a sister doesn’t appear to be coming true any time soon.

In February 2023, Angela Holm uploaded a video to her Instagram account that showed the results of a gender reveal for her future baby. According to her Instagram bio, the mom makes “cute and relatable” videos that depict life as a mom to her three children, as well as her future baby, who is due in July 2023.

In the video, Holm instructed her three kids to bite into cupcakes that had icing in the center that would either be pink for a girl or blue for a boy. While many people – especially kids – would find this to be a fun way to hold a gender reveal, Holm’s daughter, Vienna, was not thrilled when she saw the color of the icing inside the cupcake.

In the video, the little girl bit into her cupcake and was surprised to see blue icing, which meant that she would be welcoming another brother into the family. Unfortunately, this was not the sibling she was hoping to have.

“It’s a boy. I wanted it to be a girl,” Vienna said sadly. Her mom tried to console her, but the little girl grew more and more upset until she began crying. When Holm told Vienna that she would be getting “another brother,” Vienna broke.

“Mom, I don’t like brothers!” Vienna cried. She continued, “I wanted it to be a baby sister.”

Meanwhile, Holm’s other children, Zakkri and True, appeared happy to be welcoming another boy to the family, and they enjoyed eating their cupcakes.

It’s safe to say, though, that Holm was surprised by Vienna’s disappointment. In the video’s description, she wrote:

“GENDER REVEAL! This didn’t go as planned… I not NOT expect this reaction from Vienna! 🫢🥲 she’s okay! She just had super high expectations for a sister haha! #genderrevealgonewrong #genderreveal #boyorgirl #babyboy”

Many people felt for the little girl, especially those who longed to have a sister themselves. “I say this went exactly like expected. Of course she wants a sister, she has enough brothers already,” one person commented. Another person said, “My mom has a video of me finding out my last brother was a boy… they played it for me the week before my wedding 😂 I have 5 brothers, it’s awesome but I feel her pain!”

Hopefully, little Vienna comes around to the idea of having yet another brother.
