Fun Teacher Dances With Students In Class & Makes Others Want To 'Join' In

There’s a reason why parents entrust their children to their teachers: they know they can count on them to take care of their kids outside their homes. Without a doubt, schools provide a safe place for children – not to mention help them to prepare for a better and brighter future ahead of them. But apart from imparting knowledge that will equip them to find their way through life, teachers provide a place where children can be themselves. And most of the time, teachers help children discover and maximize their hidden potential outside academics. 

From singing to dancing to drawing, a child can be whoever they want to be at school with the guidance of their teachers. For one teacher from Entebbe, Uganda, who went viral with a fun video showing her and her students dancing together, music played a part in helping them discover their talent. She has proven to her students that all it takes is a little bit of groove to know that they, too, can dance.

In the video posted by Humble Shantel on TikTok in 2022, the teacher could be seen writing on the chalkboard before she coughed and decided to take it on the floor. But no, she didn’t face her students to present to them her lesson for the day. Instead, she led the pack of students who lined up with her and danced with them. Effortlessly dancing to “Cough” by Kizz Daniel, her students appeared like professionals as they grooved to the song.   

Shantel, who has over 120,000 followers on TikTok, delighted everyone with the heartwarming video.

“Wow great teacher. Be blessed. All teachers should get a leaf from her,” one person said.

When a parent asked if her child could take repeat classes, Shantel hilariously responded. 

“Why repeat Dia? He can join this school in other classes,” she said. “I wanna get back to this class now at 30. Please be my teacher,” one person said. Shantel then responded by jokingly saying: “Wow 30. Maybe you want to be (the) director of the school.”

“I wish I could go back & I join,” one other person said. "Can I join the school?" another person asked.

Other people even asked where the school could be found because they also wanted to take classes under Shantel. Some expressed their sadness for not having been able to get the chance to experience what it feels like to have fun at school. “I never had a good teacher. My teacher was just for books … no mercy,” one person said.

Shantel told the commenter that she had never experienced having a fun teacher in the past. She said it motivated her to become different from those kinds of teachers. “Even us … we faced the same problems. But I said I will be different from other teachers,” Shantel said.

Meanwhile, some people couldn’t help but react negatively towards the video, with one person saying Shantel’s way of dealing with students is one of the reasons why a lot of children do not do well in school.

“That’s the result why many school kids failed last year. They only go for TikTok. I think teachers must start leaving their phones,” one person said.

But instead of responding back and addressing the person in a serious tone, Shantel simply laughed off the person’s comment and said: “Why do you always want (to create) problems?”

If there’s one thing Shantel proved, it’s that she could be the most fun teacher out there.
