‘Friends’ Actor David Schwimmer’s 12-Year-Old Daughter Sports Adorable Hairdo After Shaving It Off

“Friends” was one of the most critically acclaimed sitcoms that aired in the ’90s. The iconic television sitcom landscape has changed ever since its release. 

The show, which went down as one of the most popular television series in American history, has won countless awards, accolades and fans over the show’s 10-year run from 1994 to 2004. On paper, the show might seem rather ordinary. 

As its name suggests, the show revolves around a group of six friends — Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing and Ross Geller— as they live life as young adults in New York City. The show follows the ensemble cast as they date each other, move in together and further their careers in Manhattan.

The show was highly acclaimed and often featured on the highest-ranked TV series of all time lists. It also aired one of the most-watched television episodes in history: the series finale, which attracted 52.5 million viewers. To say the least, that means the NBC show has its fair share of fans.

Among the actors who gained massive popularity during and after the show’s run on television was David Schwimmer, who played the role of Ross Geller. 

In the show, his character was a father of two children. His first child was named Ben Geller, played by Cole Sprouse, with his then-wife Carol Willick. 

By the end of season 8, Ross and Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, also had a baby named Emma. 

Years after the show aired, Schwimmer had his own child named Cleo Buckman Schwimmer with his wife at the time, Zoë Buckman, and as she grew up, she decided to shave her hair off. Read on below to see what she looked like after her hair grew out again.

According to an article published by UPI in May 2005, David Schwimmer wanted to keep himself busy with projects and acting schedules at the time, as he got sad whenever he was on break at his home in Los Angeles, California. 

“I distract myself with work, rather than finding a kind of peace or happiness, which still eludes me,” he said at the time. 

He further noted that he will only be truly happy when he becomes a father and a husband.

In a previous interview with People Magazine in 2006, he spoke about starting a family and having children. He said: “It will happen when it feels right… Maybe part of me is waiting for myself to slow down a little and be ready to stay put. I’m confident it’s gonna happen.”

Fortunately, his dreams came true in 2010 as it was confirmed that the two already tied the knot secretly.

According to Glamour Magazine that year, David and his wife Zoë Buckman, who is a famed photographer, got married in June 2010, and they didn’t make it public until months later. 

The couple first met in 2007 when the actor was shooting his movie “Run, Fatboy, Run,” in England. At the time, Buckman was a server at the Cuckoo Club in London, where Schwimmer was a customer.

Finally, in 2011, his dreams of becoming a father came to fruition as David and Zoë welcomed their daughter, named Cleo Buckman Schwimmer. She was born in May 2011 in New York. 

Unfortunately, David and Zoë decided to split in 2017. Regardless of their separation, the two continued to be great co-parents to their daughter.

As of 2023, Cleo is 12 years old, but despite her young age, she’s very aware of what’s happening in her surroundings, as she claimed to be a vegetarian, as revealed by her father in a 2020 interview.

As reported by People, David said, “When she was four or five, she just said ‘I’m a vegetarian’. I think she had been somewhere with her mum, where they were talking about vegetarianism and animal rights and I think it just hit her.”

The actor continued supporting his daughter’s lifestyle because even though he’s not great in the kitchen, he did his best to provide the food that she needed. He revealed that some of her favorite foods were pasta and vegetarian nuggets.

Cleo is also very interested in experimenting with her sense of style and fashion, as she dyed her hair different colors in the past.

In 2020, her mom took to Instagram to share photos of the young girl shaving her head. 

“The world is saying “burn it down and rebuild” and the babies are listening. I see how kids today challenge norms and standards in a way that we didn’t, and that, amongst other things, gives me hope! One ❤️x” she wrote in the caption. 

Years after Cleo shaved her head, Zoë shared photos of her hanging out with her cousins, and she looked prettier than ever. The little girl grew her hair out, and she even dyed it pink in 2022. 

It appeared that Cleo is also a fan of drag queens as her mom surprised her with a drag show that she considered “the best night of their little life.”
