Father-Daughter Duo Sings Touching Cover Of An Andrea Bocelli Song

Mat and Savanna Shaw, a father-daughter duo recently shared a cover of the song “Fall on Me” by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli and his son, Matteo Bocelli. The song was featured twice on Bocelli’s 2018 album “Si,” with both the Italian and the English version. The song was originally written by the American musical duo, A Great Big World who also ended up recording the song themselves together with vocal sensation Christina Aguilera. Now the song went viral once again as Mat and Savanna Shaw posted their touching rendition of it.

Mat and Savanna both have a great passion for music and the duo especially enjoys singing together at home. They actually use one of their closets as a recording studio while most of their music shoot videos are shot in their kitchen!

Both father and daughter are not just passionate about singing but also incredibly talented singers. Therefore it comes as no surprise that viewers love their covers.

“Fall on Me” is actually not their first cover of an Andrea Bocelli song. In March 2020 the father-daughter duo shared their rendition of Bocelli’s  “The Prayer” to bring some positivity into the world. Viewers adored their performance and the video soon had 4 million views. 

Needless to say, people were more than excited when Mat and Savanna posted a cover of Andrea and Matteo Bocelli’s “Fall on Me.”

“Fall on Me” was a perfect song choice for the father-daughter duo as the song is basically “a conversation between a father and a son who is unsure of love and life and doesn’t know his position in the world who suddenly hears the voice of his father come to him from afar, and the wisdom of the father and the love of the father would come to him and help guide him,” as Bocelli’s Producer Bob Ezrin told Billboard. 

A father-daughter duo covering a song about the relationship between a father and his child, therefore, intensifies the song’s meaning and gives it more depth.

During their performance, it’s clear to see how proud Mat is of his daughter as he keeps looking at her with admiration. In the video’s description he even reveals how proud Savanna is making him:

“This song was written for a parent and child; and honestly, it was difficult to get through without getting emotional. I kept thinking about how as a parent, I often have to allow my children to go through hard things to help them grow. About how much I want them to feel my love through it all. Savanna, I love you and am so proud of you“
