Fashion critics Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez spotted the best and worst dressed celebrities at the 2020 Golden Globes. From Scarlett Johansson's old-school glamour to Gwenyth Paltrow's couture catastrophe, here are the critics best and worst picks of the evening:
Best - Laura Dern
According to Fitzgerald and Marquez's critique on Cosmopolitan, Dern made the mark for best "Boho-glam." The actress wore a floral Saint Laurent gown that gave a relaxed yet modern feel.

Worst - Cate Blanchett
Known for being chic and elegant, Blanchett's pale yellow Mary Katrantzou dress did not exactly fit the evening. As the fashion critics said, "the combination of pale yellow, mega pleating, a tiered skirt, shell sleeves, and a silver beaded Wonder Woman bust was a whole lot to take in."
Best - Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson's red Vera Wang gown looked bold on the 35-year-old. Critics thought it danced with regal and glitzy undertones with a confidently plunging neckline. The movie star did, in fact, look like a movie star.
Worst - Charlize Theron
As Fitzgerald and Marquez's put it, Theron's Dior gown looked unfinished. "The bold green draped over another of those visible-boning bodices makes it look like the gown is either falling off or incomplete," they said.
Best - Zoë Kravitz
The "Big Little Lies" star looked effortless in a Saint Laurent polka dotted combo. Fashion police say, "Zoë has a knack for making the most painstakingly curated red-carpet ensembles seem like she just threw them together and wound up looking amazing."
Worst - Jennifer Lopez
Although Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to being bold in fashion at awards shows, it seemed her exuberant Valentino Couture dress was too much to handle. Fitzgerald and Marquez believe J-Lo's big bow-tied gown "looked a bit too much like something you’d literally see in a trophy case."
Worst - Gwenyth Paltrow
Critics were baffled by Paltrow's choice of dress. Whether it was the fact that viewers could see her undergarments or the brown color of the ruffled Fenti dress, critics say it was an "unforgettable look that everyone wound up talking about anyway."
