Farmer Installs Massive Bristle Brush Near Pasture — Cows Go Completely Bananas Over It

Back in June, a herd of 100 cattle at Pemberton's Farm Shop and Dairy got a brand new brush installed by Mayo Cow Comfort.

One of the most physically tiring jobs on the planet Earth is being a farmer. Farmers are charged with the duties of waking up before the sun rises to clean, brush, feed, and provide tender loving care for several different animals. However, it's the love of the job and passion for providing for the country that allows the farmer to deliver everyone's milk and food. As thanks for providing such consistent service and product, a good farmer also likes to give back to his animals from time to time.

Cows frequently love nothing more than to lay out in the sun, relax a little bit in the fields, and chow down on some fresh, delicious grass and cloves. Most cows live a comparatively relaxing life that the majority of humans couldn't even dream of having for themselves.

Although humans certainly do have plenty of brushes for their own needs such as combing their hair, one doesn't typically think of a comb as an accessory that a cow would enjoy even more than people would. If you've never been exposed to what a cow brush is, then you’ve never been made aware of just what a delight it is for cows to use them.

Tom Pemberton is a local farmer who enjoys working with his hands even more than the average rancher or farmhand. Always creative, Tom consistently seeks ways in which to make life better for his livestock, so that they would continue to produce the best quality food for the United States.

After witnessing his cows rubbing against one another, he thought it almost looked like they were attempting to scratch each other's itches. This gave Tom a spark of inspiration; he would use his handyman experience to craft the perfect contraption for his large group of cows to enjoy. Seeking only the betterment of his herd, Tom used basic hand tools to craft and install what he considers the perfect cow brush in a large open field.

According to a video he posted on his YouTube channel, Tom selected the color yellow in order to attract the cows and so that it's easy to spot from a distance. He reinforced the bottom with a reflective metal to prevent anything from crawling up and damaging or eating away at the bristles.

Then he further reinforced the bristle holding mechanisms with soft metal so that the cows would not hurt themselves if they became over-enthusiastic using the brush. The idea was to craft the cow brush as if it were a giant pole similar to ones that cats would use to scratch themselves.

The moment the cow brush was installed, it began to attract cattle from all across the field. They immediately began to rub their backs, sides, and necks all over the bristles. You can see the absolute ecstasy in their faces as they're able to scratch places never before possible! Although it's a popular new attraction on the farm, the cows seem to be able to share it without any problem; they each wait their turn patiently in order to get their itches scratched.

The brush was further improved to be unbolted so that it could be moved around as needed, but it certainly looks like the cows won’t be relinquishing their new favorite toy anytime soon! In fact, Tom plans to put more around the other areas of his farm as it expands!

Have you or your friends ever seen a herd of cows look so happy? What do you think of the idea that these large bovines are essentially just overgrown kittens at heart? Let us know your opinions and thoughts!
