Fans Express Confusion About Ben Affleck’s ‘Terrible’ Hairstyle & Question Whether He's Going 'Bald'

Ben Affleck is a two-time Academy Award-winning actor, director and producer. Considered an A-lister in modern Hollywood, the dashing actor has attracted considerable attention in the past few decades because of his talent, work and controversies surrounding his relationships. 

Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, and they had three children. However, the powerhouse couple’s marriage did not last because they divorced in 2018. Despite their separation, Affleck and Garner have maintained a civil relationship as they continue to co-parent their children. 

Meanwhile, in 2021, Affleck shocked the world when he and singer-actress Jennifer Lopez rekindled their old flame and started dating again. Affleck and Lopez first dated from 2002 to 2004 and were even engaged, making them one of the biggest couples in Hollywood at the time. Sadly, their relationship did not work out, and Affleck went on to marry Garner. 

In 2022, Affleck and Lopez finally tied the knot, showing the world that second chances were possible. Affleck, Lopez and Garner developed a complex yet healthy co-parenting arrangement for their children. Lopez has two children with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. 

However, in a stunning turn of events, Lopez and Affleck formally announced their divorce in August 2024 after months of intensified speculation from the public that they were already separated. Since then, the public’s attention on Affleck has magnified, with many anticipating what would happen to him following the surprising divorce. 

While many were interested in the affairs of his heart, some of his fans debated online after seeing a video of him on a film set where it appeared that his hair was noticeably thinning. Many argued that it might be the effect of his divorce from Lopez, but some attributed it to something else.  

On Oct. 15, 2024, an online media outlet captured footage of Affleck leaving his car with an iced coffee. He was accompanied by a woman, later identified as his assistant, Gigi Fouquet. The actor was dressed casually in autumnal colors, showcasing his signature effortless, understated style as he walked with Fouquet away from the paparazzi. 

After the video was posted online, Affleck's fans discussed the outing. While many might expect people to dissect Affleck and Fouquet together, they instead focused on his physical appearance.

Fans on Instagram pointed out that Affleck's hair seemed to be thinning, as seen in the video circulating on social media. “What happened with his hair 😮,” a worried fan inquired on Instagram. One user even asked if Affleck was “getting bald.” 

Some believed there might be another reason for Affleck’s hair transformation.

“He looks like he got too hot and tried to take a bath, but was still too hot so he cut his own hair off,” one speculated. 

“He looks terrible. Definitely drinking again and he's going bald. The JLo glow really wore off quick,” another commented. 

However, some of Affleck’s loyal fans had better things to say about him after seeing him look more relaxed. 

“handsome ben good job that you got out of that relationship you look awesome healthy relaxxxxxxx 🙏✌️,” someone said on YouTube. 

“Ben Garner Affleck looks better than ever,” one pointed out. 

Since Affleck and Lopez’s separation, speculation about the actor’s dating life has arisen, including rumors about him and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s second-eldest daughter, Kick Kennedy. Conflicting sources have confirmed and refuted the pair's relationship after reports of them dating and hanging out emerged shortly after Lopez and Affleck publicized their divorce in August 2024.
