Entrepreneur Urges ‘Rich People’ Not To Spoil Their Kids As He Leaves Children In Economy To Sit In First Class

Everybody has a different style of parenting, depending on each individual’s own principles and values on what should be prioritized. One man, however, sparked fierce debate when he chose to leave his young children in economy class on a flight as he and his wife sat snug in first class.
British entrepreneur Samuel Leeds offered some advice to “rich people” in a video uploaded to his social media. According to his LinkedIn profile, Leeds became a “self-made millionaire within seven years” after venturing into the property business in 2008. He is now the co-owner of a company called Property Tribes, which offers training courses on the property industry. Leeds is also a speaker and published author.
In his clip shared on Apr. 20, 2023, Leeds was seen waving farewell to his two young children who were sitting in economy class with their nanny. “See you later,” he said before he made his way to the first-class cabin, where he was seated.
“Rich people, don't spoil your kids,” Leeds wrote in a message that flashed over the clip. He then walked “past business class, because I earned it.”
As he arrived at his first-class seat, he panned the camera toward his wife. “My wife who helps build the business with me,” he explained before she reached for a glass of wine and raised it up in a cheer. In the video’s caption, he again stressed the need for parents not to spoil their children and assured viewers his children were accompanied by their nanny in economy class.
He ended his video by asking viewers whether they agreed or disagreed with him, and the public was quick to take opposing sides on the issue.

Leeds’ clip ignited a firestorm of wide-ranging opinions. Some viewers sided with him unequivocally.
“Respect… they will be in first class one day and feel that they earned it,” one comment read. Another said, “I am baffled by the people who have a problem with this. They have a nanny and are on a plane. The kids are getting to go on vacation as well.” A third user wrote, “I love this! Your hard-earned money not theirs. They need to learn to make their own. No excuses and this is a teachable moment when they get older.”
Another viewer agreed and said, “I support this. They’re with the nanny and is on the same flight. Kids are so entitled these days anyway. They’ll be alright. At least they’re going!”
“Bros teaching them a valuable lesson and saving a couple quid too 🤣” another user remarked.
Others, however, couldn’t fathom the father’s logic and said they disagreed entirely with his approach.
“I fail to see what lesson this will teach them,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “Bad mind you should want all you have plus so much more for your children. I don’t agree with this one.” A third viewer wrote, “I agree with you to an extent…but I don’t think leaving ur young daughter on a plane where ur that far away from her is a good idea.”
Other parents chimed in to say they could never sit so far from their kids on a flight.
“Umm you left your kids behind mate.. nanny or no nanny my kids are coming with me,” one user stated. Another observed simply:
“This one’s a bit odd.”
