Alfonso Ribeiro is a renowned actor, comedian, dancer, and television personality. He was born on September 21, 1971, in The Bronx borough of New York City. Ribeiro began his acting career at the age of 8, appearing in Broadway productions such as “The Tap Dance Kid” and “The Will Rogers Follies.”
However, Ribeiro’s big break came in 1984, when he was cast as a dancer in Michael Jackson’s Pepsi commercial. He went on to work with Jackson again in his “Captain EO” film and became known for his impressive dance moves and charismatic personality.
In 1990, Ribeiro landed his breakout role as Carlton Banks in the popular television series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” His portrayal of the preppy and uptight Banks became one of the most memorable characters on the show and cemented Ribeiro’s place in pop culture history.
Juliane Hough wears many hats; she is a dancer, actress, and singer. She was born on July 20, 1988, and with all four of her grandparents being dancers, it is no surprise that Hough took to dancing herself. She started dancing at the age of 8 as well and took formal training at the Center Stage Performing Arts Studio in Orem.
Hough was launched into fame when she won season four of “Dancing With The Stars” (DWTS) alongside Apolo Ohno. She also won the fifth season but was eliminated at different stages in her other appearances. The two-time “DWTS” winner returned to the show as a judge between 2014 and 2017.
On March 20, 2023, Hough was announced as the new co-host for season 32 of “DWTS,” following Tyra Banks’ exit from the show. With the new season edging closer, the “DWTS” Instagram page took to the platform on August 21, 2023, to share a video of the co-hosts, Ribeiro and Hough, showing off their dance moves.

“Dancing With The Stars” is a dance competition television series that made its debut on June 1, 2005, on ABC. The 18-year-old show is the US version of UK’s dance competition series “Strictly Come Dancing,” and one of the numerous versions of the “Dancing With The Stars” franchise. The show pairs celebrities with professional dancers, who teach them new dance routines for every week that they remain in the competition and perform different dance routines with them.
For every season, there are a different number of celebrity and professional dancer couples competing to win the grand prize. But the unchanging part of the show is how the competition is done. In each episode, the couples perform a dance routine for the judges, who allot points based on their performances. However, the points allotted by the judges are not standalone in determining who is eliminated at the end of the episode. Votes from viewers, in combination with the points from judges, determine who leaves the show.
Besides the celebrities and professional dancers, there are other people who make up the show, including the judges, the hosts, and the musicians. The judging panel is typically made up of three judges who are professionals with a pedigree in the world of dance. The musicians provide live music for the show and the dance routines.
The host and co-hosts are another integral part of “DWTS.” Since its inception, the show has been hosted by some of the finest TV personalities, including Tom Bergeron, Tyra Banks, Lisa Canning, Erin Andrews, and Samantha Harris. For the upcoming season, Ribeiro and Hough will be co-hosts of the show.
