In any wedding, the father-daughter dance can be one of the most emotional moments throughout the event. For one bride in Utah, however, the moment took on a bittersweet, tearjerking tone when her five brothers danced with her when her deceased father couldn't.

Kaley West Young, the young bride in question, was racked with emotion when her five brothers - Kevin, Dustin, Danny, Derek, and Kasey - explained how the dance would work: each brother would dance with her to the song "Fathers and Daughters" by Michael Bolton, taking the place of their father.

As the song played, their father's voice - taken from home video clips he had shot over the years before his death in March 2015 - played over it. The result brought everyone in the room to tears as the voice of the late David Jean West told Kaley how much he loved her.

The video has since made its way online, where it has touched the hearts of many. It even managed to reach Michael Bolton himself, who responded by saying that he was "moved to tears," and that he was "humbled and honored" that his song could be part of such a beautiful, meaningful moment for the West family.
When Kaley and her groom were on their honeymoon in Italy, she spoke to WJLA-TV about the experience. She said that she was in shock, stating that she felt as though she were having an out-of-body experience in the ballroom, surrounded by her friends and family as her brothers danced with her.

Kaley then went on to say that she didn't think the video was just about her or her family; rather, she saw the video as something that speaks to a much larger group of people who have gone through or are going through love and loss. She believes that the video is about the most important thing in our lives: our loved ones.

She explains that every one of us will deal with the loss of someone we love, and when we do, we will experience intense sadness and despair. However, she feels this video will be reminder that "you are never alone," that love transcends the physical for whoever is going through this loss. No matter what, she says, "you are never alone and you are loved."
