Dumped In A Trash Bag, Sweet Senior Dog Gets Another Chance

Trash bags are for so much more than garbage. People use them to store clothing, holiday decorations, and all sorts of items. The following trash bag contained quite a surprise when a family dumped it at a rescue shelter and inside was an elderly dog called Blackie, a Welsh Corgi mix, who was unwell and unwanted.

To a casual observer, a black plastic bag inside a cardboard box looks like garbage. All it needs is to be placed on the curb or thrown in a dumpster. This collection, however, didn't contain the typical weekly throwaways.
A closer look revealed treasure. When volunteers at Carson Animal Care in Gardena, California, looked inside this humble packaging, they found Blackie. Blackie is a senior black dog.

This senior citizen is a Welsh Corgi mix. She's roughly 10 years old and is all black. She's such a beauty and doesn't look like she should ever be packaged for trash collection day. The family who surrendered her had packaged her as they had to make it easy to hand her over. According to Family Pet, they claimed that they couldn't afford the surgery to treat the bleeding tumor near her tail.
When the shelter posted a video of Blackie online, a senior dog rescue group was watching. Frosted Faces Foundation is a San Diego-based animal charity. They immediately came to bring the abandoned elder to their facility.
Frosted Faces soon sent Blackie for surgery to remove her painful tumor. They showered her with lots of love and attention. Today, she's happier, healthier, and ready to find her forever family.
