Driver Having Medical Emergency On Georgia Highway Saved As Good Samaritans Smash Window
Jul 31, 2021 by apost team
There were some truly good samaritans at work in late July 2021 when a man in Georgia passed out at the wheel while driving down the highway. The man’s truck was drifting down the road and there was no response when people nearby tried to get his attention. When the truck began to slow, several people went over to try and help the man who was locked inside.
Using different tools like a sledgehammer, tire jack and even a baby stroller, the helpful strangers smashed at the front window to try and reach the man who was slumped over the steering wheel with his eyes closed. They also tried the passenger side window — but to no avail. Finally, two of the rescuers were able to break open the rear window and one of them crawled inside to unlock the doors and turn the truck off.
When paramedics arrived they announced that the man was having a medical emergency, and he was taken to a nearby hospital. As they waited for the paramedics, one of the good samaritans took the man’s cell phone to call his wife and inform her of the situation. She was very grateful and was able to meet her husband at the hospital.
The entire event was captured on video and the scene seemed chaotic and stressful, but fortunately, everyone turned out safe and sound. However, when the footage was posted online many commenters thought that the event was a fight in the street and not good people working together to save a man’s life. Read on to hear more details about this incredible story.

Seeing a car drive down the road with an unresponsive driver must have been terrifying. Juordin Carter, who captured the event on camera, said to Inside Edition, “The truck was still moving, but the driver's head was leaned over and his eyes were closed.”
Pastor Qua Tucker had just left church when he saw the scene unfold on his way home. “We took the jack and tried to bust out the front window, and I was out of luck,” Tucker said.
After no luck with the front window or passenger side, they moved to try and break the rear window. “A lady assisted me in tapping a hole in the back,” another helpful stranger, Jelani Kimble, said. This effort took the help of many people who stopped what they were doing to work together and save someone they did not know.
Finally, they got the man out of the car and tried to comfort him as they waited for paramedics. “I just stayed with him and made sure that he was OK and told him to keep his eyes open. All of us were a team out there. We’re just proud that we all could come together like that,” Carter said
After Carter posted his video footage online, there was a major misunderstanding among the viewers. “(They said) people were fighting in the street, people were trying to break into his car. So that’s what made us decide, OK, well we gotta get the truth out there,” Carter said.
With the man safe at the hospital, everyone was free to congratulate one another on a job well done. “It brought joy to my heart. It felt good to see people, strangers who did not even know each other, to come together,” Tucker said
