Drive-Thru Employee Divides Internet For Being Rude To A Customer That Was Actually Her Mom

Moms always ensure that their children are being nice to other people when they are outside their homes, especially when they grow up and start working for their own hard-earned money. Some mothers tend to confront their kids when they find out that they’re acting a certain way.

This is what happened to a McDonald’s drive-thru employee who went viral in June 2023 after she was rude to a customer who turned out to be her own mom.

In a video posted by Neesa Red on TikTok, the woman filmed herself pulling up in the drive-thru window where her daughter was working.

Her child wore a McDonald’s employee shirt on top of a black hoodie. She also had the fast food chain’s signature hat and earpiece to hear customers’ orders.

As she arrived at the window, the mom hilariously called out her daughter for being “rude” and even requested to speak with her manager.

The kid laughed off her mom’s request and demanded that she pay $14.06 for her order. 

“You were rude as hell taking my order,” the mom said, then added, “That’s not how you do customer service.”

The daughter hilariously ended the video as she asked her mom, “Would you like cash or card?”

Red also shared the funny encounter on her Instagram account, where many online users shared their thoughts about the incident.

The mother appeared to love posting about her children on the social media platform as she also shared a video of her other daughter, who had her driver’s license in 2022.

More clips showed the mother and daughter pair spending more time together where they clearly enjoyed each other's company. However, that didn't deter the issue that was present in the viral video.

After the video went viral on both TikTok and Instagram, several users commented their own take on the situation.

One user pointed out that the possible reason why the kid was rude while taking orders from customers was due to her management.

“It’s probably her management team that makes her that way. You should hear what my daughter deals with and she said I can’t go talk to them. It’s crazy. These poor kiddos,” one commented.

In the video, the daughter could be heard saying “I couldn’t hear you,” and it was probably the reason why she was aggressive with her mom.

One user agreed with the employee’s sentiments as they explained, “No but for real, the part of ‘I couldn’t hear you’ is true half of the time we can’t hear cuz some ppl tend to talk so low that we can’t hear you.”

Another user argued with Red in the comments as they told the mom that the incident was not serious because it happened at a fast food place.

The mom shared her words of wisdom as she replied that people should not be rude regardless of their job, as she wrote, “Doesn’t matter what line of work she’s currently in. You instill Customer Service in your children from a young age and she is a young adult.”

Some commenters agreed with what Red did to her kid as one explained, “As a mother I think she did the right thing letting her kids know when they are messing up because if she was a real customer that could have affected her employment.”
