Dolly Parton Gives Fans Rare Glimpse Of Stunning Natural Hairstyle

Country singer Dolly Parton is a legendary performer. Over the years, Parton has left countless audiences in awe with her exceptional vocal talent and tunes that hit you right in the heart. It is no wonder why the country music star has so many devoted fans. Besides her outstanding musical talent, Parton is also known for her extravagant looks. The blonde bombshell is particularly famous for her elaborate hairdos that occasionally seem to defy the laws of gravity. While the country singer openly admits that wigs are the key to her famous looks, she recently revealed what she looks like with her natural hair in a throwback Instagram post, and fans are going crazy over it.

When fans ask her how she achieves her stunning good looks, Dolly Parton isn't one to beat around the bush. According to BBC News, when a fan once told her, "Oh, Dolly, you always look so happy," she would reply boldly,

"That's the Botox!"

And that is precisely that raw honesty fans love most about her. 

The 74-year-old country singer is similarly open when it comes to questions about her hair. Here, Parton openly admits that not everything is natural, as she typically wears wigs to make her extravagant hairstyles possible. In an interview with Hallmark's Home & Family, Parton shared why she decided to switch to wigs: 

"I used to try to keep my own hair teased as big as I like it, and having the bleach and all of that, it just broke off. I thought, 'Why am I going through all that? Why don't I just wear wigs? That way, I never have a bad hair day! I have a big hair day, but not a bad hair day."

In her teenage years, Parton used to dream of being able to afford a wig at some point in her life, as she writes in her book Songteller: My Life in Lyrics. Back then, she could not even have imagined that she would one day be so successful that she can now buy as many wigs as she wants. 

In her book, Parton writes: "I always wore my hair all dolled up. Whenever this hairstyle started, I was the first one to have her hair puffed up. When I could buy those hairpieces and wigs, I wanted them right away […] Plus my hair would never do exactly what I wanted it to. So the wigs became kind of my trademark."

According to Mirror, the country singer, in fact, employs a dedicated stylist who brushes and grooms her custom wig creations. And, with years of practice, the singer is so good at her getting-ready-routine that she is done with make-up, costume, and wig in less than 15 minutes.

Recently, however, Parton caused quite a stir with a rare throwback post on her Instagram account. The blonde country singer posted a picture from her younger years in which she can be seen with her natural hair. It is a black and white picture that must have been taken around 1965 after the singer had signed her first record deal with Monument Records. The picture shows a young Dolly Parton, probably around 19 years old, standing in front of a microphone, with blonde, shoulder-length hair that, unlike Parton's famous hairdo, is not extravagantly dolled up but falls naturally.

"Where the magic happens," she captioned her photo. 

Since the famous country singer shared the throwback picture, over 220,000 people have already reacted to the post. Most of her fans in the comments were thrilled and surprised to see their idol so naturally with no elaborate hairstyle, as Parton hasn't shown herself like this for years. "Still beautiful, inside and out," wrote one infatuated fan.  "We'd love you even if you were bald!" wrote another. 

One person stated that the picture simply proves that Parton has always been gorgeous in every aspect, saying: "Quite obviously in all ways you've always been such a beautiful person!" 

While another fan commented: "I am betting this is Dolly wearing her real hair. No matter - Dolly is beautiful, class and a wonderful person no matter what hair she may be sporting."
