Dogs can do incredible things, but have you ever seen one ice skate? Benny, a sweet Labrador retriever who was saved as a puppy from euthanasia, has wowed people around the globe with his ice skating skills.
His owner, an ice skating coach named Cheryl Del Sangro, took him with her to practice one day for fun. She never imagined that Benny would fall in love with being on the ice. She and her friend shot a short video of Benny running across the rink with a hockey stick and puck as a fan video for the Vegas Golden Knights.

After the video, Del Sangro and her friend decided to fashion Benny a pair of doggy ice skates and began some agility training.
"I just started teaching him the same as teaching a small toddler and incredibly, he took right to it. He was able to stand and skate on his own the first day we tried it," Del Sangro said in an interview with "PEOPLE".
When Del Sangro saw Benny, it was love at first sight. The pup had spent six months at a kill shelter in Utah and was scheduled to be put down soon. On his last day, a local rescue in Las Vegas had saved him. Although he was free from euthanasia, there were still no takers for Benny at the new rescue. That is until Cheryl saw him.
"But as soon as I saw his eyes in the photo I knew he was meant for me. I filled out the forms, finally got to meet him and it was instant love.” – she told "PEOPLE"
