That’s what happened to one family. They weren’t able to find their two dogs. Miguel and Madison are a breed of off-white guardian dogs. You’ll see soon just how braves these two were.
These two hero-pets didn’t abandon their home when the fires hit. They stayed to defend their home without failing. They weren’t afraid to risk their lives guarding the house.
You would have a hard time trying to draw them away from their territory. It wouldn’t even matter if the entire neighborhood was an inferno. They were ready to to stick through thick and thin. Miguel was eventually rescued by a group. He made it back to Andrea Gaylord.
Miguel’s owner was relieved, but Madison was nowhere to be found. The clock was ticking. No one thought the pup had survived after the initial flames.
The K9 Paw Print Rescue team tried to keep everyone in the area on the look out for him. Everyone was wishing that the poor dog would be found by people who had access to the area. It seemed hopeless. So much time had gone by since destruction had hit home. Nearly everyone had given up on the search for Madison.
His family finally got up the courage to salvage through the remains of their once happy life. There he was. He was sitting among the charred remnants of the home they had lost that terrible day. He had been waiting for them to return, and he was perfectly fine. Madison had been guarding his home the entire time.
Shayla Sullivan was the rescue worker that had been taking care of him. She’d kept him stocked on food and water. Sullivan had personally volunteered to look after his needs until his owners were found.
Sullivan had been on the case looking for Madison since Miguel was first found. She said that she would always remember to bring food to the area he was last seen in hopes of keeping him alive long enough for rescue.
She also spent much of her time looking through FaceBook lost pet posts in hopes of spotting Madison. Miguel had been found all the way over in Citrus Heights, So it was a possibility Madison had been found outside of the danger zone.
She did see Madison a few times in the canyons, but she had a feeling that it wasn’t going to be easy to lure him out in the open. Sullivan even went as far as leaving clothing behind that had touched his owner to keep the canine’s spirits up.
Andrea had a big surprise waiting for her when she returned. There was Madison waiting happily in the rubble. This poor dog had been alone for nearly an entire month. You know you’ve got a loyal dog when it will go through that much trouble to wait for you. We’re sure that Madison will get all the love he can handle form this day forward.
