Doctor Pulled Over For Speeding—Bursts Into Tears When Police Officer Gives Masks Instead Of Ticket

Dr. Sarosh Ashraf Janjua was driving down highway I-35 in Minnesota when she got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding because she was rushing to work. Expecting to get a ticket, Dr. Sarosh received surgical masks from the cop instead, which moved her to tears.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed lives. State governments have asked people to stay home and limit movement to curb the spread of the disease. Currently, state officials are using everything at their disposal to curb the spread of the virus. State troopers can’t go around wasting resources on drivers that don’t want to obey traffic laws.

However, this story is different. Instead of getting a speeding ticket for driving down highway I-35 in Minnesota, Dr. Sarosh Ashraf Janjua got something totally unexpected and heartwarming from a state trooper.

The trooper pulled her over and warned her that her speed poses a threat to other motorists and herself. He explained to her what could happen if she got into an accident. Dr. Sarosh told the trooper that she was filling in for another cardiologist in Minnesota. Her reason for speeding was that she was running late for work.

After warning her, the state trooper forgave her and gave her back her Massachusetts license. Dr. Sarosh hoped that she would also get a ticket for speeding, but the officer gave her something more valuable. Knowing that she is a medical professional helping coronavirus patients, the trooper gave Sarosh five N95 masks for her and her colleagues.

At this time, those masks are a precious commodity for health workers. According to WHO guidelines, N95 masks give medical professionals the best care when handling COVID-19 patients. As the number of infected persons has increased, the masks have become scarce. Dr. Sarosh cried when the trooper gave her those masks because he knew how much health professionals need them.

After giving the doctor those masks, the trooper walked away to continue with other duties. Dr. Sarosh still couldn’t believe what had just happened. She shared the story on her social media pages and thanked the trooper for caring.

In the video, Janjua talks about how the pandemic poses a risk to her and her colleagues. Even though she doesn’t mind working hard to save human lives, she is afraid of what might happen if she gets the disease. To her, getting the masks was reassuring.
