Diana Ross Transcends Generations As Even Her Grandchildren ‘Love’ Her Shows & Are ‘In Awe’ Of Her

Diana Ross, the legendary singer and iconic diva, continues to captivate audiences with her mesmerizing performances. Not only does she leave her fans in awe, but her own grandchildren are also enchanted by her talent and star power. 

Evan Ross, Diana’s son who is also an actor and musician, recently revealed in an exclusive interview with People in June 2023, that his children with his wife Ashley Simpson Ross are huge fans of their grandmother's performances on the stage. Jagger and Ziggy were born in 2015 and 2020, respectively, and could still relate to the music of Diana's longstanding career.

Diana has had an illustrious career spanning several decades, marked by numerous chart-topping hits and accolades. With her timeless songs and magnetic stage presence, she became a music icon after leaving The Supremes in 1970.  Her debut self-titled album spawned the chart-topping hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," and she continued to release a string of successful albums for over a decade.

Throughout her career, the 79-year-old singer has released 24 solo albums and received 12 Grammy Award nominations. In 2012, she was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys.

Having been married twice, Diana has five children from her marriages and one from a relationship with Berry Gordy. Her children, including Evan, have started their own families, giving Diana a total of eight grandchildren. The Ross family continues to grow, and Diana's legacy extends through her children and grandchildren.

Behind the glitz and glamour of the stage, the singer finds solace and fulfillment in the company of her beloved kids and grandkids. Evan has always been grateful for his mother's love and affection.

"They love it...They're in awe of their grandmother," Evan said when he was asked to describe how his children were enjoying Diana's show at the annual Rosé Day event in California in June 2023.

"My mom's on tour, so we're gonna go see some of her shows," Evan added and revealed his family's summer plans for the year.  

In another exclusive interview in January 2023, Evan said that his mother does everything for love and she cares deeply for her family. Every Christmas, she brings together all five of her children and her eight grandchildren for a joyous holiday gathering. The legendary diva never fails to share her annual family Christmas photo with her followers. 

For Evan's wife, being part of such a legendary family brings both joy and a sense of awe. Ashlee, who is also a singer and successful pop artist, shared her nervousness when playing her music for Diana, as she wanted to impress her mother-in-law. However, Diana proved to be a supportive and encouraging figure, helping Evan and his wife on their 2018 EP "Ashlee + Evan." Despite the passage of time, Ashlee remains grateful for Diana's guidance and maternal love, per the New York Post. 

While fans eagerly celebrated Diana’s 25th album, titled "Thank You," her legacy as a musical icon and a loving matriarch continues to shine brightly. Her concerts not only captivate audiences worldwide but also leave a lasting impact on her grandchildren, who are in awe of their legendary grandmother. As the Ross family celebrates special moments together, their bond remains strong, and their love for music and each other continues to flourish.
