David Beckham Rocks Iconic Haircut That Makes Fans Reminisce On The Old Days

David Beckham is popular for his world-class abilities as a football player but is also a successful businessman, entrepreneur, and model. The talented midfielder was born into a family of sports lovers and dedicated Manchester United fans. He inherited his parents’ love for the sport and became one of the game’s most recognizable players. 

He said in a 2007 interview, “At school, whenever the teachers asked, ‘What do you want to do when you’re older?’ I’d say, ‘I want to be a footballer.’ And they’d say, ‘No, what do you really want to do for a job?’” he said. “But that was the only thing I ever wanted to do.” 

David met his longtime wife and partner Victoria Beckham nee Adams, a former Spice Girls’ pop music group member famously known as “Posh Spice” during a Manchester United match, and together, they have four children, Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, Cruz David Beckham, and Harper Seven Beckham. The footballer’s greatest accomplishment and pride is that he is a father and takes his role very seriously. He told The Father Hood:

“I think you mature quicker with kids. You have more important things in life to worry about than your everyday worries, and life becomes all about the kids. I think that’s what you learn as a father, you become less important and it’s all about your children.”

David’s investment seems to have paid off. On Aug. 13, 2023, he posted a picture of his new haircut on his Instagram stories that brought back memories to his fans. Besides being a star on the football pitch, many fans also look up to David for his fatherhood tips. Many have commented over the years that the former football star inspires them to be better dads. The Inter Miami co-owner can often be seen interacting with his children and being physically affectionate in shots taken by paparazzi and on his social media. He also shared that he is very involved in their upbringing. 

The father of four employs a hands-on approach to caring for his children, as he loves “doing the school runs and cooking their meals.” He also shared a trick that had worked well for him for years when he said, “You can make a strawberry smoothie and then smuggle in vegetables without the kids even noticing.” 

The right winger once told UNICEF what he had learned about being a dad. He said:

“Being present with your child, that’s the greatest gift that you can give to any child, your attention.”

One of the ways David demonstrated affection for his kids was when he allowed his youngest and only daughter, Harper, to use him as a human mannequin for her makeup. The two bonded over the activity he shared on Instagram in July 2023. Harper, who wore floral-patterned pajamas and pigtails, had a serious expression as she held what appeared to be a makeup brush to David’s face. The businessman also looked serious in his black suit as he tilted his head and looked up so his daughter could work on his face. 

“Daddy apparently needed a little powder & contouring (not sure what that means, but I looked better what ever it was) my little makeup artist @victoriabeckam,” the girl-dad captioned the adorable photo.

David also took his fans down memory lane on Aug. 13, 2023, when he posted a photo of his new haircut on his Instagram stories. The iconic footballer is known to be a fashion icon who has never shied from experimenting with different haircuts. He debuted his latest haircut, the buzz cut, on his social media, which brought back memories of when he used to rock the cut. 

“Nothing much changes,” he wrote on the picture of himself sporting the fresh cut. “Get bored of my hair (and) chop it off 😂,” he concluded.

The buzz cut is easily David’s favorite cut. He said in 2022: 

“I always loved the skinhead because it was easy. You didn’t have to do anything with it so I loved the skinhead.”

It turned out that David and his second son, Romeo, decided to chop off their hair around the same time. The 20-year-old shaved off his hair and shaved some lines on his eyebrow to complete the transformation. 

Romeo flaunted his cut on Instagram Story and thanked his hairdresser for helping him look like his dad. David reposted the picture and complimented his son’s appearance. He also shared an old picture of himself rocking the same cut.

Just as the footballer has a favorite cut, he also has a hairstyle he most regrets wearing. In an interview in July 2023, he disclosed that the only hairstyle he ever regretted having was his cornrows. 

“It was painful having them done but I liked them,” he told The Sun. “I do sort of regret the cornrows,” he said and added, “I got to meet the great Nelson Mandela. And the picture that I’ve got of Nelson Mandela is me holding his hand with cornrows in my hair. That’s my only regret.”
