David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham are one of the most powerful and influential couples in the world, and they never shy away from sharing their parenting tips on social media and in interviews, which is one possible reason why their fans love and adore them so much.
Before taking a look at how the father of four handles his children on a daily basis, let’s deep dive into the history of his kids.
According to People Magazine, the soccer superstar first became a father on March 4, 1999, after the former Posh Spice gave birth to their eldest child, Brooklyn Joseph Beckham.
For those who are wondering why the couple decided to name their son after the New York City borough, many assumed that the pair conceived their firstborn in the area, but according to Victoria’s autobiography titled “Learning to Fly,” they just loved the name.
During Brooklyn’s early years, he spent most of his time in Oxfordshire, but since David was a famous soccer player, he took his family to different cities around the world like Madrid and Los Angeles.
Growing up, the power couple wanted their son to live a normal life and not get involved with show business as much as possible, but he later started his career on his own by becoming a photographer.
After Brooklyn, David and Victoria welcomed Romeo James Beckham in 2002. Unfortunately, things weren’t easy at first as he had some health issues which required him to be hospitalized. It was later found out that he was suffering from epilepsy.
Their two younger kids are Cruz David Beckham, born on Feb. 20, 2005, and Harper Seven Beckham, born on July 10, 2011.
Throughout his social media posts, candid paparazzi shots, and red-carpet appearances, David can be seen interacting with his children, and it appears that they have a close bond with one another.
Not all fans know about this, but the soccer superstar actually loves getting involved with his children’s activities despite his hectic schedule as a public figure.
In an interview with The Father Hood, it was revealed that David loves “doing the school runs and cooking their meals,” and he gave a short tip to parents out there that one of the best ways to sneak in nutrients to their bodies is adding vegetables to their strawberry smoothies and they won’t even notice it.
The soccer player also shared the reason why he wanted to be a hands-on father, and it’s simpler than you think: the outlet noted that he views his kids as a “motivation” and leaving them could make him “physically ill.”
When Brooklyn was born, both David and Victoria were in their early 20s, but despite being a young couple at the time, the public figure said he wanted to have kids already for them to become a part of his career.
“I always wanted that, because I wanted my kids to live through my career with me – through the highs and obviously a couple of lows along the way. I always wanted that,” he said.
In an interview with UNICEF in 2018, David shared a few words of wisdom about his journey as a dad. For his main advice for parents or dads out there, the world-renowned athlete said:
“Being present with your child, that’s the greatest gift that you can give to any child, your attention.”

The Beckhams love sharing their personal lives on social media as they constantly post photos and videos of their children.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, David shared a photo of himself along with his wife and then-9-year-old daughter Harper on his official Instagram account.
“We had a visitor in the night,” he wrote in the description, revealing that his youngest kid still shared a bed with him and his wife at the time.
Following this, many fans expressed their love for the family, as one user wrote, “Harper Seven is so beautiful, it should be, after all the mother is so gorgeous and the father is so handsome, the mashup of both.”
There were also followers who got inspired by the way David handles his family. One wrote, “Everytime i see your family, it inspires me to be a good father and also a good husband.”
Fast forward to 2023, it appears that Harper is all grown-up now, but she still loves spending time with her dad despite her being in her early teens.
According to Good Housekeeping, the father-and-daughter duo attended Harry Styles’ concert at Wembley Stadium in June 2023.
David took to his Instagram account to share a short clip of them singing along to the former One Direction member’s song “Late Night Talking.”
Harper wore a white top and a pink feather boa as well as a pink cowboy hat adorned with faux fur, which are common accessories worn by fans at Styles' concerts.
On the other hand, David wore a plain shirt, but he amped up his look by wearing a similar feather boa.
