David Beckham Eagerly Sits For Makeup Session With His 'Little Makeup Artist' Daughter Harper

David Beckham's life as a former star athlete includes several ventures in the sports world and beyond. Besides being an entrepreneur, model, businessperson, and sports executive, David cherishes his life as a father. Since 1999, the former Manchester United soccer player has been navigating fatherhood with his longtime partner, wife Victoria Beckham. From various family moments on social media, it is no doubt that he loves his role. 

The most noticeable show of affection is the bond he shares with his young daughter Harper as the pair often display their precious father-daughter moments. In a July 2023 post shared to Instagram, the football icon and his adorable daughter showed off one of their sweet moments, in which Harper took over daddy's beauty hour. Harper is the last of four children that Victoria and David have together. 

The pair first met in 1997 during a football match and dated for the next one year. The Spice Girls singer and athlete then got engaged and welcomed their first son, Brooklyn Beckham, in 1999. In the early 2000s, Victoria and David expanded their family, welcoming two more sons, Romeo and Cruz Beckham. Harper was born on July 10, 2011, and she wrapped her parents' hearts in her little fingers since her birth.  

Over the years, David and Harper have shown off their bond on social media, even when it once caused a controversy. In 2017, the Inter Miami boss posted a photo of him on Instagram where he kissed his daughter on the lips. While the image gained traction, it drew criticism from media users. David replied to this series of criticisms during an interview on Thai TV. 

The star dad told the host Woody Milintachinda that he was unapologetic about how he chose to show love to his children. He explained:

"I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children. We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and you know, we're very affectionate with them."

David does not only show affection to his daughter, but he also makes sure to protect her against social media vices. Celebrity kids are often targets of internet trolls, and sadly, Harper's parents have had to deal with her being a target of social media scrutiny. Since she was a toddler, the little girl has been the subject of negative comments. In 2012, media trolls poked fun at her weight and criticized her parents. 

Harper made headlines in October 2017 when trolls commented on her weight gain. Her parents had been livid by the situation, even as they refrained from addressing it on social media. According to a Daily Star insider, Victoria was upset and hated that her daughter could read the comments and become hyper-focused on her body image. The source said about David:

"David was fuming and wanted to post something about it on social media but was told not to as it may encourage the trolls."

Aside from the unhealthy media scrutiny, David has proved unbothered, as he keeps documenting his favorite moments with Harper. The dad-daughter duo pulled at fans' heartstrings when David shared a snap of their beauty hour.

The Instagram snap was nothing short of delightful as David let Harper show off her beautifying skills on his face. In the one-photo post, the dad-of-four was dressed in a dark suit thrown over a buttoned-down shirt. David was no doubt in a relaxed mood with a few buttons left undone.

On the other hand, Harper wore a serious expression as she held what appeared to be a makeup brush to her daddy's face. David tilted his head backward, allowing her to paint his face. Harper, who is a perfect mix of her parents, looked fresh-faced in patterned pajamas while her honey-brown hair was styled in pigtails. David gushed in his caption: 

"Daddy apparently needed a little powder & contouring (not sure what that means, but I looked better what ever it was) my little makeup artist @victoriabeckam." 

Fans in the comment section were smitten by the post as they showed admiration for David's parenting skills. Others joined in the fun while sharing hilarious comments. One person joked, "Blend it like Beckham 😌." Another wrote, "Whatever the princess wants, the king always be there."

Someone stated, "Cute relationship they have 😍." A second person echoed the same sentiment, "I just can't get enough of this relationship." One fan commended David and his wife, "Love how you both as her parents are raising her."

A few days before the daddy-daughter post, Harper celebrated her 12th birthday in style with her loved ones. It is safe to say that Harper is a budding beauty and lifestyle lover with a love for makeup. She also loves body art, as she sported a temporary butterfly tattoo that matched that of her sister-in-law, Nicola Peltz.
