For Hollywood actor Daryl Sabara, becoming a father gave him more purpose, and his journey through the life-changing experience has been beautiful. The former child star opened up about his life as a dad in a chat with People on June 16, 2023, and he proved he would not have it any other way.
Sabara, best known for his classic role in the 2000s kiddie action movie, "Spy Kids," married mainstream singer Meghan Trainor in 2018. Since then, the couple has been progressing in their family life. Trainor and Sabara met at a party in 2014, but it wasn't until 2016 that they connected.
At the time, Trainor was ready to find a nice partner, and after asking her friend Chloe Grace Moretz, she hooked Trainor up with Sabara. Speaking with People in 2020, Sabara recalled the moment they went on their first date. He addressed his wife while relaying that his affection for her began when she entered the room.
The star actor stated that he felt at ease when he saw her and knew she was the one. Sabara noted that he never used to think he would get married, but after seeing her, the possibility flashed before his eyes. They debuted their relationship months after when Trainor shared photos of them on Instagram.
Sabara proved to be a loving and supportive partner when Trainor underwent vocal cord surgery months after their relationship kicked off. On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," she recalled that he stood by her even when she could not speak and was still recovering.
The "Made You Look” crooner and "The Polar Express" actor got engaged in December 2017 after more than one year of dating. Daryl Sabara made it extra special for the love of his life by proposing to her on the eve of her 24th birthday. The couple walked down the aisle one year after their engagement in December 2018.
Meghan Trainor and Sabara opted for an intimate backyard ceremony with their close friends and family members present. After their wedding, the “All About That Bass” crooner made it known to People that she was ready to start her motherhood journey. However, she had to be done with her Treat Myself tour first.
On Oct 7, 2020, the lovebirds announced they were expecting their first child together. The pair both announced their big news when they appeared on Today at the time. Trainor and Sabara welcomed their bundle of joy and first son, Riley, into the world on Feb 21, 2021.
The overjoyed new parents both took to Instagram to share the heartwarming news. After welcoming Riley, the spitting image of both parents, the couple recorded milestones, including their son's first Christmas and birthday. Being a candid celebrity, Trainor did not hold back on sharing different events concerning motherhood.
The star opened up to People about being a working mom, albeit working from home. The star mom noted that although she felt fortunate to work from home to be close to her baby, it did not stop her from feeling guilty. Trainor, who did not understand the feeling, explained it to her therapist, who let her know that it was something many moms experienced.

When Trainor stepped into her role as a mother, her beloved spouse was right there by her side, also taking up his role. Sabara was also helpful at the delicate stage when she newly gave birth.

During his interview with the outlet, Sabara gushed about raising his son. He noted that he felt "so much purpose and just getting up with Riley and having a morning routine and making him breakfast and making Meghan breakfast and having that family time." He described his fatherhood journey as "cathartic," being that his own father was never present. Sabara revealed:
“I'll say that it's pretty amazing because I didn't have a dad growing up. My dad left my family when I was 1. So becoming a dad has kind of given me this existential experience of becoming the dad that I always wanted."
Sabara referred to his son as his "best friend" while adding that he couldn't wait to meet a "new best friend" in some week's time. The actor's reference was to Trainor's second pregnancy. He added that their son could not wait to be a big brother.
